GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Finally got round to fitting the front dashcam, wired to the 12V glovebox socket - it doesn't have a parking feature so its fine to be on the switched supply only. Run up the pillar, easy to pop out and back in to run the cable avoiding the pillar airbag.

Ordered a replacement exhaust bolt from toyota parts direct to replace the one that I managed to snap when fitting the Borla aftermarket. Not my finest work, might have been cross threaded from factory as the other one came off nicely, or I'm just a bit daft with the tools.

My gr86 was sold approximately 4 weeks ago, already looking at getting another ‘face palm’. This time maybe as a weekend car rather than a daily….

I've always said I'd never own the same car twice but have been looking at Octavia vRS's again for a 2nd car. They do so much so well for the money.

Nearby Tesco still void of 'Momentum' after nearly 2 weeks, so I decided to try a local Shell garage that I've never been to before, to get some of that 'V-Power' stuff instead. What I did manage to get was a tiny kerb 'kiss' whilst trying to squeeze between a poorly positioned 4x4 and the ginormously kerbed fuel pump islands that they have. What's even worse is that when I got out, the V-Power pump was tagged as unavailable. FML
(Mobile repair booked for early May. I'll splodge some silver paint on it until then ...)

My local shell has those huge kerbs and the Vpower pump is in a very awkward corner position. I'm always adjusting the mirrors and hanging my head out of the window when I pull away

Not in or with the '86 , but today I called at Findlay Subaru, St George, Utah to pick up a BRZ Footwell Lighting Kit. PT No H461SCC000
It's the dealer fit Subaru lighting option, a plug and play harness, blue LEDs, brackets and zip ties. Should be an hour to fit.
I'm not sure on the blue LEDs, but they can be swapped for red ones later if preferred.

Driving round Utah in the Jeep has been fun, but some of the roads were begging for a thrash in the GR. :)

then seeing as it had just arrived, tried out some Soft99 Fusso Coat F7 liquid wax. Very easy to apply and remove, just have to see how it lasts
Fusso F7, over the weekend I'll try the tyre dressing Digloss Giraedge
Those wheels look so good.

Not "just being polite on the forum (or to someone you briefly met at Japfest 24) good", but like REALLY fckn good.

Had the car in for an oil change at Toyota Helensburgh this morning. £70 for the labour supplying my own filter, sump washer and Millers 0W20. Would thoroughly recommend as you're getting an official Toyota dealer but independently owned! I was off to Loch Lomond afterwards and they kindly recommended taking the old Haul Road just past Faslane. What a drive! 15 degree declines with misty mountains staring back at you. I'll be back later in the summer when (if?) the weather is better for sure.

Gave me an excuse to try out my new camera too. I know next to feck all about photography but had a blast playing with my Ricoh GR IIIx. Soon I'll have GR embossed cutlery...

Will pop some more pics in the members cars bit as I've neglected that since before I had the ducktail spoiler fitted months ago!

I remember the first time I crested that incline - the road seemed to just drop away!😳
Although longer than going through Helensburgh, it was my favourite route home from Faslane (especially when on my motorbike) during the sunny Summer months.

You couldn't pay me to take a motorcycle down that hill, even in the summer!

Annual checkup on PPF and ceramic coating with my detailer. Looking very glossy. Have found a stone chip which has not only penetrated the PPF on the bonnet but left a bit of a dent. Humpf. Can't see it when I'm driving though!

( There was an 1100bhp Nissan GTR in the workshop whilst mine was in, very nice indeed)

Went for an spirited early morning drive around Oxfordshire b roads . I genuinely cannot see myself driving a a faster car in b roads. I know a GR Yaris will be faster, same with a cayster variant but I don't think I would get the same pleasure.
Also, I don't think I will change the oem exhaust, I have never beilen one for pops and bangs and that will only bring attention, also I am afraid it will get too noisy inside the cabin as I already have plenty of nice sounds, but never say never I suppose.
