GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

My new batch of GR-Sonic Tees arrived today! The transparent part of the graphic has worked out well with Sonic bursting through the GR logo to show the material underneath. They could have ironed them for me though eh?! 🙂

Fantastic….Well done, I’ve done big Euro bike trips to Sardinia etc. Though no car ones yet. So respect. My mileage is exactly a tenth of yours after 3 months of getting GR. It loves it new Motul 5W-30 oil 😁
 
Another quality of life upgrade, if you guys can handle the excitement...fitted a glovebox light!

Attaches behind the glovebox using an existing screw. Plugs into the lighter socket with a USB pass through (which I think is still putting out enough to charge the phone quickly). Small plunger is depressed when you close the lid to switch it off. Truly, S-Class levels of refinement now.

Cost me £15.89. Ordered last Thursday, and it arrived today. Bargain.

Sonic is a trademarked character owned by SEGA, and using it without permission could lead to legal issues. Before proceeding, you should consider seeking a licensing agreement with SEGA. This would involve negotiating terms under which you're allowed to use Sonic in your product.

Yeah, yeah, yeah ... I think AliExpress might be a bigger problem for them than my 4 Tee shirts. As long as products aren't being sold and are for 'personal use' there is usually some flexibility. After all, the same could be said for the 'GR' logo which is also trademarked - What would we do if we had to remove that from all of our 'personalised' stuff? Doesn't bear thinking about ... I'd have to strip the car down to an OEM shell! :LOL:

They do, but it depends on the complainant reporting each individual seller, so given the number of ‘shops’, that would be a mammoth task in itself 🤯.
I own two UK Registered Trademarks, so I know what a PITA it can be to keep them secure, especially with regards to variables in layout, pantones, typefaces, spacing etc., which is almost impossible to cover.

That doesn't actually say what is or isn't an infringement, it just says not to do it where it is an infringement. It may be that it's an infringement when goods are available in certain areas. But a copyright, like Sonic, doesn't apply worldwide, only in certain countries.

And presumably people can use those in some other countries, because the UK registration won't cover the world.
 
It can be nasty stuff if it's left on. I'm sure there was someone on this forum who also suffered with some badly etched paint from bird muck.

Bloody hell. Looks like that frozen planet in Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar".

I've wiped "mine" off but the car is covered in bloody baked on pollen so a quick full wash might be in order later...
