GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Took the wife for a sunny lunch next the sea in the GR86 ☀.
Provided instructions to be careful when entering and to ensure feet are carefully manoeuvred to avoid scuffing doors, sills etc,. Got short shrift in return and “it’s not the first time I’ve been in a low car you know!”
She gets in and proceeds to boot f**k out of the door card 🤬. FML.
Took some time this afternoon to fit some 3M tape in likely impact areas. Not exactly pretty, but functional…
I might do that. I'm not too precious about it, but my youngest boots it every day. It looks like a high mileage minicab in there.

You're not the only one with a wife like this! My feet are size 11 and I can manage getting in the car without kicking the s**t out of it, but her size fives acts like she's in strictly's final. I share your pain!

My girlfriend still closes the door by pushing the glass sometimes. Rage inducing.

I just can't bring myself to pay £30+ for a door sticker from AliExpress when I've got two rolls of vinyl protection tape in the garage... It's like the knee pads, I've put them (and one of these protection stickers) in the basket on several occassions, but once I see the total with Tax I can never seem to 'check out'. I'm too long in Fife methinks - tighter than two coats of paint 😆

This is why she loves you 🥰

Reminds of when I specifically told my wife about avoiding kerbs in my previous car then she reversed off the driveway and drove straight over a kerb at about a 5 degree angle and completely ruined about half of the wheel rim.

Looks like I’ve got myself a puncture in a rear tyre - currently @ 7k miles, so a bit of life left, but wouldn’t be too bothered if new was needed. You reckon it’s worth taking the opportunity to change both rears to a different spec? What’s current thoughts on best alternative to PS4s??
Drove the PS4s every day over the winter without any issues so not particularly fussed about an all weather tyre

Just an fyi, Toyota dealerships do free puncture repairs. Might keep you on the road whilst you decide on new tyres.

Idly looking at the Ring doorbell as the bin men went past today and watched it being used as an impromptu hurdle...

First off, that's an incredible shot! left handed at a moving target and a very acute angle.

I wouldn't be too happy about this being done either, but reporting it might result in the bin men being not too pleasant with you in the future. Maybe put the bin bags past the car next time.

Oh no, I wasn't considering reporting it. It was a good shot, would have been a bit miffed if he'd missed or the bag had split though. And the bin bags are past the car, usually....for some reason, today they picked them up from the other direction, while coming back down the road, rather than on the way up it.

Time for some fun…
