GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Visited an ICE track on saturday. But before getting there, compressed snow after friday nights snow storms bent the Romanian sump guard like a tin can :D Luckily owner of the track drove over and gave me an axe, so i could straighten it out a bit. Was good enough to drive without issues after straightening a bit. This was literally the only damage done. Just going high speed through snow piles.

Visited the track together with @Marcis, he was a great help both morally and practically.

In the end got back to work after, colleague straightened it out good as new and better, as there is no gap anymore for the snow to get in like before :ROFLMAO:

Anyway here is a short video.

I finally got around to installing my Tein S. Tech lowering springs today - after importing them last year October already.

Definitely a more mild drop over the H&R equivalent - super happy as I daily the car and didn’t want to compromise too much on the practicality of it !

Is that a Garage Vary spoiler in black finish? Or is it just the light that makes it look black

What I havent done today, that I probably should is clean it! :rolleyes:View attachment 39475

I really wouldn't bother until the coldest part of winter is over... Thing is, I once washed (another) car after blasting on winter B-roads, and soon after the lateral indicators popped out from the front fenders due to water freezing behind. Result two lateral indicators to replace because the plastic clips had broken...

I've been kicking myself for such a stupid incident at a junction I know so well, but having had some time to reflect I can also count myself lucky that no one was hurt and also that the wheel took most of the impact, so it's bolt on stuff that can be replaced. Thankfully it was right on the corner and missed everything structural!

It will be two-tone for a while though, while I decide whether to re-wrap the front bits or go back to white. Asked AI for some help... Marlboro rally livery anyone? ;)

Maybe the 3rd picture with a red bonnet ?
Or the third picture with red fenders ?

Last month I didn’t know if I’d see it again. A few bits to go back on inside the arch and the geo and I should get it back this week. First glimpse today and they’ve done a lovely job, even putting my DIY mesh back behind the new grille.

That's great news, so who are the clever people that done this great work
Fix Auto Manchester East. I feared the worst when it was insurance chosen repairers etc, and I’ll reserve full judgement for when I get it back and drive it, but all impressions so far are good. Was surprised to see a car repair place have 4.9 rating on trustpilot tbh.

Waiting another couple of days while they wait for some plastic fixings for the wheel arch liners, but should have it back in multicolour form by the weekend.

Spent more money on a car I wasn't sure I was keeping...that's what I did today 😄

Ordered the GRMN rear seat delete, and Cusco/Saftey 12 rear roll cage with X brace. First Japanese JCI inspection is coming in March, and will change the title to reflect 2-seater. I guess I'll be drilling holes in the car now 😀

Roll cage?
You decided to go drifting with the lads,

Today was the day I picked up the GR from the repair centre and drove her home. What an absolute joy to be back in it, and other than now being multicoloured, drives like nothing had happened.

In a week where we’ve had the news our jobs are being outsourced at work, and our other little Yaris is off the road with as yet undiagnosed engine misfire issues, I’ve got to take any small win I can.

That sucks about the job being outsourced. Hope you pick up something soon. Glad to hear the little red yaris is back on the road.

My Yashio Factory Super Silent Titanium Muffler & Titanium OPF Delete pipe turned up today, express delivery from Japan. Took 4 days to arrive via DHL between paying the invoice on Monday morning via Paypal & it turning up mid day today, Thursday, which is pretty amazing if you ask me. I was lucky as they had one in stock.

Not cheap but the lightness and quality are very apparant from just peering inside the box. Can't wait to get this fitted on Saturday at Abbey Motorsport, Oxted (thank you so much Scott), just in time too for JapFest as well as my birthday which is lucky and should hopefully mitigate any awkaward questions surrounding its cost, well for at least 1 day 🤣

Hopefully this will be my third & final exhaust

I'm on the verge of ordering one at the moment, none in stock, approx 6 months to wait...
