GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Seems to be a common issue as I had it with mine and seen many say the same. I wonder if they’ve changed the coil packs in the gen2.

What are the symptoms of bad coils, just for future reference? Would that include stuttering or hesitation during heavy acceleration?

With this one, it’s started okay from cold, but after a few mins and under a little bit of load (uphill out of the village) it basically stopped working so it was running on two.

From previous experience of dodgy coil packs I thought it was likely that it would work again after a restart, so I pulled over and gave it a minute.

That time off and/or a little it of heat soak let it work again so I could get back to the house.

After I replaced it though the engine seems to be a lot better in terms of pickup, so maybe it had been putting out a bit of a weak spark for a while. Could be placebo, but it does feel more responsive on part throttle now.

Fitted new front Endless MX72+ pads along with fresh Motul RBF660 brake fluid.

I tried to figure out what this button is for, but I still don't understand what it's for:). There's a wire going to it.

Apparently on the Toyota Prius it turns on or off the footwell lighting on both sides when the headlights are on. It only comes in effect when the headlights turn on. It doesn’t change the footwell light when driver’s door is open.
I have never seen one on a GR yaris though 🤔

Mine went to Envy car care in Gosport for a clean ready for the weekend.

Then I fitted these plug and play horns £21.50 for the HT and LT (String theory £35 for just one) https://amzn.eu/d/aYico1F

I was originally going to just fit the one and do it whilst the bumper was off. That all didn’t happen and I can’t be bothered before the weekend to remove the bumper. So both attached by the bonnet catch with my old horn still attached.

I then decided to order this loom https://amzn.eu/d/8Nn0RQu which comes tomorrow and will allow me to run both. The horn has never really bothered me but they do sound better.

Google also talks about footwell lighting.
The button has always been on since purchase, perhaps there is a malfunction of this lighting.
I drove for six months and only now noticed this button

:)
