GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Yes and under 50mph so the price for the badge is £615 so as it’s secure it can stay like that for now as it’s all behind the bumper. I might look to epoxy it when I next take the bumper off and worst case is I buy a new one.
Just melt along the crack while pushing it together with a soldering iron with a wider tip, that is what i would do, and save a lot of cash

You need studded tires like they have in Finland

Drove to work today and thought of the fact that the GR is no longer for sale in Norway. Thinking: Should I drive my carl like I planned to (as a daily and a hobby), or should I adjust to the fact that I wont be able to buy this kind of car new in the future, and drive it more sparingly.

I still dont know. Its a question for the philosophers do decide or not decide.

I feel ya, it is what it is, but i want to drive the car to my hearts content, as i will have it for at least 3 years i want to enjoy it as much as i can, how many km on the clock and worth after be damned.

As you can not take it with you when you go: treat it well, but drive it like you stole it whenever you have the possibility….

Otherwise it would be like saving your girlfriend for the next chap (by all means, I don‘t mean that disrespectful)…. Would‘nt just make sense…😉🤷🏻‍♂️

When I repaired the bumper I realised the numberplate mount overhangs by about 2.5cm so decided not to fit it when remounting the bumper.

I found plexiclick number plate holders on Amazon, and went with a clear version, easy to install although whilst I wanted to try reuse the numerous holes on the bumper the best location meant self tappers into my new bumper 😳 but as they’re unlikely to come off or I put the plate holder back on it’s not a problem.

All fitted and now no overhang (maybe 1-2mm total) and at the same time I fitted a slightly narrower plate.

Thing is we actually have a contractor that salts the place and plows the snow whenever it's needed. Apparently that morning they didn't deem it necessary. Oh well lesson learned and thankfully without having to pay.

But for people who aren't fit in the early morning. I can tell you a 6 AM adrenaline rush takes good care of that (y)

You called? ;)

If you enjoy driving it daily in a way other cars cannot satisfy, making you smile every time? If yes, then keep driving, there are enough made to find them second hand if you for any reason would "wear out" this car, if that is even possible, spare parts exist and always an excuse to make some upgrades...

On the other hand, if you mostly taste the downsides when daily driving and find you getting used to it as the new 'normal', it can actually be refreshing to drive something more suitable/boring/comfortable/relaxing for the daily grind, and appreciate the specialness of the car in contrast when you do drive it, preferably on drives that compliment the strong sides of the car.

It really depends on your situation and how you enjoy cars in your life....

I sold mine as it was getting more and more daily use, getting more used to it, and with increasingly limited possibilities to explore new driving adventures, and when out and about we would need the bigger car for the fam so it just sat back home with all it's unused potential...

Drove it home, as I bought one!!!! 2022 with only 2,078 miles on the clock, never been out in the dark, let alone rain. Kept in a heated garage, owned by a lovely old lady. I can't be happier.
Old ladies always have mint cars hiding in garages.. Back 20 years ago I had an old lady living around the corner from me with the cleanest, like new Renault 5 GT Turbo hidden away. Still dream of that car as my R5 GT Turbo (my first car) was a bit of a shed. Welcome to GR Yaris ownership!

Picked up our youngest one from the daycare with GR - he was happy and said 'oh, you came with a rally Toyota!'
Asked me to run full boost on our way back but couldn't agree as engine was still cold and we were in city. but I like the thinking he has.

Finally got around to fitting the intercooler and oil cooler after getting the replacement IC after dentgate 😆

Some slight niggles with the supplied bolts for the oil cooler but nothing I couldn't sort with nuts and bolts I have at home luckily

went for a drive early this morning to give it test run, all good and looks great with a black IC 😍
