When I get in the car and drive, its a-OK. No smell what so ever. In a matter of seconds almost.

I noticed when it's cold mine sometimes gets condensation on the inside of the windscreen, maybe causing a bit of mold smell... not sure if that is re-activating the farticles still found in your car maybe.

I bought one of those sachet things to dry the air out when the AC isn't running

In other news, I fitted my extra exhaust component (little hanger near the left tip on the Milltek) that I forgot to install when I changed the exhaust. Then spent the last week wondering where a random rattle was coming from, and noticed I'd forgotten to do up one of the jubilee clips on said exhaust tips. Brilliant.

Isn’t it best practice to always use AC? I certainly do. At a car show on Sunday it was obvious who wasn’t using AC as the windows were all steamed up.

Are you not always running A/C? I’ve never had condensation on the inside.

Ive had this a few times with other cars, with snow, rain, ice in our parts of the world can easily make carpets constantly damp and smelly.

Mine's been on since the day I picked it up... 32,000 miles later never any odd smells or condensation

Maybe at least once it wasn't just a fart but the big brother... the smell lingers for a while.🤣
 
Have you left a damp cloth in the car. If you're cleaning it once a week? Seems excessive.
One solution would be to take it on a fast drive with the heating full up and the windows down a bit to burn the bugs out - maybe shouting 'I'm an old fart' out of the window. Works for me. :)

Nah more of a vacuum and dust cloth type clean.

That’s how I drive to work everyday, so yeah, tried that.

The strange thing is that my wife has said my excessive farting will at some point come back to haunt me, I just always just assumed she was wrong like she usually is.

Could it be that the alcantara in the seats isn’t as fart retardant as leather?

Also feel like the A/C isn’t as efficient as it used to. I get foggy front screen when I start my ride. Didn’t use to even in winter.

Do you use AC sporadically? Maybe mould growing on a wet condenser?

Took mine for a decent drive after the 48 month service. Rain cometh (again) and no washers. Well there was some flow but even a urologist would have decided there was no hope. Stopped at a mate's place to top up the reservoir but it was already full. Today did the investigation. Luckily, as the whole system is well hidden and covered, there is a joiner next to the scuttle. Pulled the hose and tested the pump and supply and much to the dismay of my burmese kitten that had alighted onto the airbox the water sprayed strongly. So the problem is in the piping that is 99.97% hidden. Great. Popped the nozzles off with the aid of a trim tool and brute force over ignorance and the nozzles were clean. Air blew the tubing and there was water ejaculated. Back together and nope not much better. Back to the tubing. Poked some wire down the off side and found an obstruction! big more jiggery pokery and it started to break up and the air pushed out an ant's nest about 50mm long! All good now but that is ridiculous. Barely two days between the service where the washer was part of the routine test and the ants creating a cofferdam. Easy to fix thankfully. I didn't fancy pulling inner guards and whatever else was in the way to get the washer bottle and pump out.

I was wondering how the hell can you have an ant nest in your car but then I saw you are in Australia and suddenly it all made sense

Classic symptoms of bacteria and mold buildup on your evaporator and/or cabin filter.

As others have said, just leave the aircon on auto and you’ll never experience this. If the buildup is really bad then you might have to use an aircon bomb to sanitise it though.

I find it baffling that folk ever turn it off in modern cars. It barely has any measurable impact on economy, doesn’t affect performance one bit, but it *always* leads to this problem in damp, cooler climates.
