GR Supra 3.0 - love this car, but have missed having a manual (yes I know ones on the way now!) but feel it has too much power at times for the road. I never thought that there could be a thing as too much power, but it means you are at or above the speed limit before you know it, which takes away from the fun side of driving. I’m looking forward to be able to put my foot down without feeling I need to back off all the time. Obviously once I get to test drive the GR86 before I’ll know for sure if it’s going to give me what I’m looking for, but all the many reviews I’ve see far are reassuring me that it will.
The Supra is for sure a more stunning looking car (I know looks are subjective) is very powerful and drives well, but I’m hoping to get more enjoyment from the drivers seat with the GR86.

That B58+ZF8 powertrain (same in my current car) is compelling but almost too good and makes going very quickly pretty effortless for sure.

Just saw a new supra on the way home, some road presence! Think it’s the first I’ve seen in the wild. A search on carwow came back with some surprisingly good deals on a 3.0 a couple months ago.

The GR86 will be my new daily, replacing my EP3 Civic Type R, and will proably cover some track work. The Honda S660 is staying as my weekend toy and for short circuits

E46 M3. I will really miss is the noise but otherwise excited to get back into something a bit smaller and lighter.

One of these two will go, although at the moment I have no idea which!
Got lots of interesting advice from PH'ers a few weeks ago when I posted my dilemma there.
Probably I will run all 3 for a few weeks when the GR86 arrives and then make a decision.
Wish I had a larger garage...

It will be replacing our MX5 NC 25AE, which has lost virtually nothing since buying it 3.5 years ago.
The 86 will be joining our Type R FK8 in the garage.
Just sold our Griff 500, never used it. Hoping to be able to get our Dog in the 86 for trips away!
Couldn't do that in the TVR or MX5.

I'll be replacing my 2004 Celica TSport. I purchased it last year from a guy that had put a fair amount of money into it at a very good price.

I needed a daily at the time and had a Civic Sport 1.5 (69 plate) on 4 year PCP. Because when I took it out I was due to start a new job with a pretty hefty commute I had to put it through with a fairly high annual mileage deal. Because of Covid I lost the job but had to keep the car, like others I guess. Loved the car but was really paying through the nose cause of the mileage. I let it go last Sept and actually made a little on it due to the car shortage.

I still needed a car so got the Celica having always wanted one, I'd previously had the Corolla TSport and loved it.

Now, in another new job, I need something thats abit more comfortable, (The Celica is lowered 20mm on springs with 17's on, when you hit a bump you really know it!) and has more modern tech within it. I will miss the Celica though, the smile that VVTI puts on my face wont be easily replaced :)

The GR86 is going to replace my Ford Mustang V8 (already sold) and a 2013 Golf 1.4TSi.

I also have a 2004 Honda Civic Type R track car, that I will keep for a while longer as i've just replaced the suspension, and stripped it back further. Longer term the GR86 will replace that too.

3 door 2018 Fiesta ST Silver Fox with performance pack and TRS mapped. Absolutely love it so will be sad to have to sell it. If i had the money... May not be a future classic but Ford have stopped producing 3 doors and unlikely to be a ST MK9 so could be worth a bit in the future.

Mk8 fiesta st. Dont get on with it.

Bought a 275 trophy to tide me over which is
epic but rather hardcore as a daily.

Might try and tuck it away when GR lands but undecided yet.

Plan is to shift the weekend z4 & the school run hyundai, mrs will get the dacia dog lugger and i can commute in the gr, always had coupe’s and autos before but kids seats and car sharing has put pay to that for the last 6 years, out the other side now thankfully

Don't sell the Honda, you'll regret it the moment it drives away.

Iconic car.

Yeah I love my MK8 ST3, has performance pack and it’s got a really playful chassis. Would keep it but I need to swap it for something bigger and more practical.

i would think the ST is actually more practical? Back seats you can use, bigger boot space , especially when you drop the seats. What makes you say the gr86 is more practical. Just curious :)

Mk8 Fiesta St, Sold last October for a silly price. Ordered a Mk8.5 but delays and delays and delays it was showing a delivery November this year. Im not willing to wait 13 months for a Fiesta (Also poor lack of comms from Ford) so jumped onto the GR bandwagon.

I've currently got a nice low mileage 2002 R53 Cooper S that we bought from the original owner last year as my toy and the car that my wife uses during the week. We bought one brand new back in the day but sold when we needed to get sensible and get a family car.

It took a long time to find the right car at the right price so am in two minds as to whether to sell it to put the money towards the GR86 or try and find a way to keep a hold of it as it's a brilliant wee car that's only going to increase in value.
