Totally Hooked
I went for the third one, D for fuel economy and “ZR” rated (even though they’re 92Y) - probably the highest performance version.

Costco currently have offer on 225/40 18 Goodyear F1 Asy6.
£277 fitted for 4!!!
Or Supersports for £406.
There was No quibbling about fitting 225s to the wheels I brought them a couple of months ago.Costco are a bit weird.
Few years back wantedvto change all tyres from run flats to normals. They made me get a letter from BMW before they’d agree to do it.
Apparently they are the same if you change to a different size like 225’s
4S?I need to pick up some tyres for the new wheels I have coming. I'm looking mostly in the UHP bracket, which is MPS5, Goodyear asym6, Potenza sport, conti premium contact 6. I'm not seing many UUHP tyres available in this size - 245/45/17.
I find "tyre reviews" has always been a reliable source of information in the past.
the Conti scores 1st in the test, however, the fun-factor seems to have been sacrificed for comparitively high, but slightly numb feeling grip, especially in the wet. this sounds very AUDI to me.
out of the remaining candidates:
The MPS5 seems to be the hardest wearing but less playful on the Limit.
The Potenza sport looks like a super fun, grippy tyre but degrades very quickly. I'm keen to try this, but wet performance looks like it falls of quite quickly as the tyre wears at a decent rate, I live in the lake district so this puts me off a little. it's always raining here!
The goodyear asym6 seems to fall somewhere between the two, offering nice progressive brakeaway and scores very highly on the subjective "fun" feeling in both the wet and dry, which is most important for me as i'm not chasing lap times and will have more than enough grip with the width of these tyres. I'll most likely go for these. I haven't ever used a goodyear tyre before either so I look forward to trying what they have to offer.
If any of you have any opinions, or know of any deals to be had in the north-west, please let me know. I was going to order from camskill at a cost of £480 for the four and pay 50 quid to have them fitted by a great wheel refurb guy i know.
Ooft! Ya Bobby-Dazzler! That's some saving. I have them fitted to my 18x8 Bola FLEs. Nice tyre - even nicer getting them at that price pointCostco currently have offer on 225/40 18 Goodyear F1 Asy6.

Haven't found a deal on them in that size

I think we have come to conclusion it is COSTCO branch dependent on how anal they are....If you take them loose wheels without tyres, they don’t know what they’ve come off or what they should have on them.
They’re seriously inflexible and intransigent!
