I still haven't heard from my dealership regarding the parking sensors installation either.

It's been around 10 weeks since they ordered them. Last thing I heard, they were waiting to have them painted and were supposed to contact me back to arrange the installation.

They are not supposed to need painting, they should be already colour coded. My dealer thought they had received unpainted black ones and sent them to be painted EB, turns out they had already been painted black so had to order another set as they are not supposed to have 2 coats of paint on them. Fortunately they replacement order came within a few days as they already had them in stock.

Same, mine were meant to be ordered 16/01, chased quite a bit, turns out they were sent to a different local dealer who had no knowledge of why they'd been delivered... I got a text Wednesday afternoon saying my car was due to be booked in yesterday which was the first I heard of it so its still not done. Not had consistent info from any dealer/TOL whether they need painting... At least Toyota dealers are consistent in their approach with other companies... pretty clueless

Hi, has anyone who's had Toyota fit the parking sensors got a photo close up of the fit / flushness please? I had mine done yesterday and none are 'flush' as in you can get a finger nail behind them. I've said Im not happy and they need to make them flush, after showing a not that close picture the manager accepted that they're not how they should be, I just want a close up pic of one which has been done as they look very neat on photos to make sure the fitter does them properly. Thank you

Probably not much help but I opted not to have Toyota fit them as I too had concerns. Namely the quality of work and potential for damage to be done by the supplying dealer in the process.

When I started digging around on the net it appeared factory fitted park sensors sit slightly inset without a bezel and the bumper looks to have a very slight indent around the aperture. Retrofitted sensors appear to sit proud of the bumper skin which cemented my decision not to go ahead unless I decided I can’t live with the car without them. It’s a real pity even the factory fit sensors aren’t hidden in the black “diffusers/infill” section of the bumper as they’re not pretty IMO.

These are mine. They not recessed like the factory fitted ones on my Golf, but I'm happy with them. I think mine are in the same locations as those on the automatics but I've seen that several fitted at dealers are in different positions.

The bottoms more of a shadow/curvature. Can’t get a nail behind mine.

Thanks chaps, much appreciated, I've been informed by the service manager that they should be flush and they have been refitted.
Interestingly mine are not in the same place. Middle ones flank the top of the number plate, the ones at the outside of the bumper are in line with the middle ones not lower down on the bumper.

I cant remember exactly but will post a photo when its dropped off later. Cant say I love them but taking delivery in winter when the camera is mucky and its wet/dark it becomes useless so they are necessary for me as a daily.

On the upside the ducktail looks good!

Yes, which is weird as I'm sure I saw some video showing that there are marked out positions on the inside of the bumper to cut out

Yours looks much better than my locations, mine are higher up in a horizontal row above the number plate level and therefore more obvious, I never expected them to be in different places for each installation, supposedly as mentioned by Robster there are marked positions for the holes which my dealer followed.
They are now supposedly flush to the bumper, but yes when I went to collect yesterday there was 1-2mm gap behind the collar which looked crap like they were not pushed through enough or the holes were too small.

There’s 4 dimples on the rear that are the points to drill out for the sensors. Anything else is wrong.

They come with a template so really should be in the same locations. I know the Toyota tech well who sent me pics when he was doing it as I thought it would be the same as the American cars but they are in different locations and it's a different kit than the factory installed ones.

Might be they cut corners on some installations which is annoying

Thanks I think it was your original post I was recalling. Mine are definitely not fitted in those positions

Just checked mine. Positions are correct but I do see what you mean. A couple of the sensors are perhaps a little proud of the body.

Right side outer, pretty good.

Left side outer, could definitely get a fingernail in there...

I hadn't noticed it before. But I'm not too bothered. Not enough to take it back and force them to redo it, would probably end up with some other problem. It's not noticeable unless you look closely. This is from a a couple of feet back.

I had mine fitted by the dealer but did have to go back as they were not flush
