GR Yaris The EcuTek thread

Ecutek can do flex fuel now.
If getting a good gasoline map is tricky, flex fuel makes that 10x harder though if done properly. But yeah, that would have been my goal, happy not to have to do it again though, it always takes some nerves and time.

assuming you still need to order the flex fuel kit however?

On my M5 the BMW ECU was very responsive to octane. You could introduce ethanol or octane booster and it would add timing itself with each pull. I'm curious how much adaptation the GR ECU allows with non flex fuel ecutek calibrations?

Results near end of video around 19min (+23whp) :) the car does automatically add timing to the 93 octane tune if you add some ethanol for knock suppression

Interesting thanks for sharing the video. I tried E15 as a test and there was no measurable effect. This could mean a higher concentration is required to promote adaptation or there is a difference in behaviour between the Yaris and Corolla calibration or market specific settings (EU regs Vs US)

Thought I’d add my 2 pence in - mine has just had the 09 Design map installed, they’re using the ECUtek platform for the tune and app to flash by phone.

So far just a short 45 drive locally to get some logs to send over, but everything is good so far.

The Airtec thermostat opens at 80c according to their fitting instructions, so that is 'normal' operating temperature.
