Ah, he sounds like one of 'them' types, probably has a French bulldog, misses is loaded up with lip filler, he wears sliders with socks, never misses an episode of love island.Thankfully my chips remain dry.
I think this fellow mentioned is a label/'badge' freak. Would rather have a 'Merc' (any Merc) than a bespoke RWD 2.4 sports coupe with LSD and other nice bits, even if it is a boggo poverty-spec hatchback with power that a supermini would be embarrassed with.
The sort that would happily spend three figures on cheaply-made knitwear if it said BOSS HUGO BOSS on it, but has never even heard of John Smedley.
Each to their own I suppose.
That descriptions reminds me of DeanomaniaAh, he sounds like one of 'them' types, probably has a French bulldog, misses is loaded up with lip filler, he wears sliders with socks, never misses an episode of love island.
Some UK folk are obsessed with status. I had a weird one when a delivery driver said to me "ah nice, 15 plate" when I first bought my GT86. No interest in what it was, it was all about the digits on the number plate saying it was new at the time.
Peoples heads spin off if you were to buy a car older than the one you had. Done that before, felt like I had to justify myself to a neighbour once
So odd.
I get the same reaction when telling people the 86 is considerably less powerful than my old car. It's usually the same people that talk about how their compact crossover is "rapid" when they press the sport button.Peoples heads spin off if you were to buy a car older than the one you had. Lesson learnt. Van drivers don’t really want to know about chassis dynamics. Compared to a 3t van, everything is quick. Next time easier just to say “yeah, proper quick”..
I've driven some 3t vans that are the same though,Nah, stick to the truth.
It's pretty fast, and more importantly, it's fun.
Usually the hired onesI've driven some 3t vans that are the same though,![]()
At the petrol station today,
van driver walking back to his van says “is it fast?”
I replied “yea, it’s quick”,
so he follows up “but is it fast fast”…
not wanting to lie I went with “nah, it’s quick enough but not really fast”
…feeling like I’d under sold it I tried “but it’s light and slides nicely”
He’d lost interest at that point and got in his van.

"I'm f*cking my cousin!"to be honest I could really tell what he was saying but had a distinctly unfriendly look about him, and there was a definitely a 'f*cking' in the middle of it...
