GR86 Rubber bungs

At local dealer for failed service today - thwy still don't know if the car should have them (as in they'd have to order them) - they also said that Toyota was looking in to whether it should have them.

They couldn't answer why the part would exist or be called a tie-down plug (thank you TR1 for the part number) if it wasn't required - a fashionable accessory perhaps, shame no one will see it then.

Starting to despair with Toyota

Mine were also in place (Subaru BRZ).... I guess that is one advantage of having all their cars prepped at the Subaru import centre vs. dealer. Disadvantage was they took the white shipping wrap off there as well!

I’ve just gone and checked and my car does not have the bungs in place.

The car is due its first service next month and I suppose it can wait. I’ll be keeping an eye out in developments here to ensure I’ve got the info on hand to discuss with the dealer. The area around the hole where the bung should have gone clearly has no underseal either.

Not sure if it’s ok to share here but my car was collected from RRG Stockport who claim they are GR Specialists.

Mine are in place, thanks Listers Toyota Cheltenham.
Must be where the car hangs on the production line.
