GR Yaris Replacement rearview mirror

Got this off Marketplace, £8. Astra model ‘J’ manually dipping, 22 x 6cm. Works great, opens up the windscreen but does restrict the rear distance view a bit. Blame the rear roofline for that, the reason for the massive low original in the first place!

Can touch the camera case without filing anything. Not tried to put the trim on and maybe won’t fit? But visibility is more important to me than cosmetics.

Not a fan of Auto dipping after my first and only migraine last year (In another car) driving at night. I’m blaming those ‘flipping’ SUV xenons!

Good work, I managed to find a manual one from a Toyota Aygo.
Works well and opens the screen up nicely but there’s no way the trim will go back on unless you cut a slot in it 🤷‍♂️.

I looked at many different options but thought all the Toyota mirrors although narrower had too much depth. The Astra ‘J’ has less depth and tapering ends which increases visibility too.
But anything is better than the ‘barn door’ original!

My OD100 arrived from foreign parts. Heading off camping for a couple of weeks so fitting will have to wait. Might file a little off after looking at the results above...

View from the camper is a bit like this... wonder how the GR will go on the beach? Might be a bit tough coming back off though.

I am so envious of that view particularly given the sh*te weather we are having in the UK.

Absolutely, I also have a Toyota Auris manual mirror that with a little modification should fit with the trim perfectly.
No real substitute for just removing the mirror completely, I couldn’t possibly condone that sort of behaviour but we do have 3 rear views if you count the reversing camera.

🫣😉👍🏼
I’m not sure about that ‘grainy’ reversing camera and prefer beeps. Never trust what you see on tv!

Another pic of original v Astra ‘J’.

Here’s another alternative. ..
The £8 Astra ‘J’ manual mirror. 22 x 6-5cm
No mirror filing or the surrounding trim.

I ended up with a 878100WK00 off eBay for £30.

It's definitely smaller but not by a lot, plug & play and auto dimming works just fine.

I fitted an Astra J this morning literally a 5 minute job, original trim all back in place I must say it's a big improvement, interestingly the mirror blind spot using the OEM mirror caused me to miss a mobile police finance van the other day, just sat in that spot a ways up the road - hopefully saw it in time but not optimistic

Hi. I also ordered an Astra mirror. Awesome!!! Thanks so much for posting this fix. I did the filing of the joint on the original jumbo but it's still too big. Really this astra mirror fix will save a life somewhere. One screw no cutting of anything. Luv the internet.

Oooh, nice. What part is that? Is it plug-and-play, or does it need adapting?
This is from Cadillac CTS(xt4/5/6) with autodim, a little bit cheaper manual dim and frameless. The mount same with GR yaris.
Connectors are different

But I buy female toyota(6098-3802 90980-12365 90980-12366 6098-3810)and male cadillac(AIT2PB-10P-2AK) plugs on aliexpress, and do 10cm adapter for plug&play

A few words about interior mirror. Stock oem mirror:
  • place very low,
  • too big for this car
The first problem may be solved with riser, but second problem not solved. I see forums, ebay, etc and collect info
87810-k0050 GR yaris mirror 270mm width, 80 mm height in the middle, 70mm height on the sides
87810-0d080 Yaris 2018 mirror 240x80x70, can be rise to the roof
87810-0wq00 lexus autodim mirtor 270x70x70, a liittle bit wider ont the top, and narrow on the bottom
Opel mokka autodim 230x70x60, can be rise to the roof
Astra j manual dim 220x60x50, same the Mokka but manual
13509166 Cadillac cts autodim frameless 230x60x50, closer to the roof, smaller and better look
All GM mirror have better form for view, wider on the top, narrow on the bottom, and you can’t off autodim
For plug&play buy female toyota and male GM plug, do short adapter and mount it.

Brilliant info, thanks

thats a superb option, great write up. Thanks.

So it seems:

Stock mirror is 270x80x70 (rounded figures but close enough)
080 and 100 are 240x70x70
0WK00 is 250x80x70

I can easily get the 0WK00... I think I will try to grab the 100 or 080 though. I am 182cm tall and sitting in the seat that 5mm each side looks useful.

Can someone with an 0WK00 actually measure it please???

There are lots of others that look the same in the photos but who knows what physical size they are.

EDIT: A search of ToyoDIY ( thanks @swistak ) shows that all three of these mirrors have been installed in the Yaris Hybrid.
080 and 100 are the same except 100 is PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM-WITH&LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM-WITH(*ALC & AUTO OFF & FOLLOW ME HOME). So presumably something is different between these two apart from the part numbers yet if I recall the wiring is the same with no additional wires? 0WK00 was also fitted and seems to be a replacement for 100.

The GR does have light control if that is auto lighting but what are the other bits????????????????

@Funky that listing also shows 87810-0WQ40 as an interior mirror without any electronic bits so perhaps that is what you are after.
This page ( https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_201801_TOYOTA_YARIS (HYBRID)_NHP130L-CHXNBW_8701.2.html ) gives a little different info :

87810MIRROR ASSY, INNER REAR VIEW
87810-0D080PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM-WITHOUT&LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM-WITH(*ALC & AUTO OFF & FOLLOW ME HOME)1
87810-0D100LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM-WITH(*ALC & AUTO OFF & FOLLOW ME HOME)1

Can anyone confirm D100 is with pre-collision support ?

Thank you for highlighting this, I guess the implication here is that installing a mirror other than stock (or the D080 potentially) above means loosing the Pre-Collision System functionality...
