GR86 Insurance

I renewed at the end of October for £498 with Admiral.

That was nearly £200 cheaper than the previous year with nothing changing apart from me and the car getting another year older.

£1100 to insure the GR, an Audi A3 and a 911 I find very reasonable.

Guys and girls for the auto do we have tatcham (or not ) alarm and immobiliser ? Insurance companies ask both and care of they are tatcham or not

Howdens just came back to me with this years renewal and it’s £100 more than last year. No idea why.
Car is totally standard apart from TRD Ducktail. Not sure if this would be classed as a modification as it was offered by Toyota as an option part?
Will be looking elsewhere though.

My renewal from Admiral came in very expensive. Ended up reinsuring with a company called Moja via confused. They are an online only arm of AXA.

Interestingly, it looks like they cover many modifications without specifically stating them individually. May be handy for some. See attached image.

I’m glad you said that because the one Howdens came back with was AXA too and that was with a few minor mods.
I did a compare the market quote and that Moja came good for me at £317 but I need to add £79 for euro travel. Still better though. Good to know they allow mods to the car.

I didn't add euro travel to my policy, but it was one of those additional add-ons, like legal protection. I recall it being closer to £30 though!

I just got around to doing a quote on Moja and got £335 for SDP 4k miles a year.
Think I’ll be going for that.

Must be something else then as they won't quote me at all. Ah well.
Did you go through compare the market? I had that and it turned out a load of my info wasn’t inputted when I ported me over to the Moja site. I tried adding abroad cover and it sent me this.
I went back and added all the info and got the quote.
Stupid thing is they couldn’t tell me why it had been rejected.
Oh and their website is 💩.

I had this message appear too. It seemed to work sometimes, then other times not. I think I ended up using mobile data rather than WiFi. I persevered as they were far cheaper than the next best.

I tried to enquire about European cover, but it must be added at quote stage. My policy hadn't yet started but if I wanted it I would have to cancel, get a refund and start again. Unlikely to need it myself, but wanted to find out for forum.

Toyota insurance £520 this year, £100 less than last year. Fully comprehensive with home rescue, protection of NCD
10+ U.K. licence and ncd. Mine is auto, no mods. Not too bad
