GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Jemca offered me £4.5k for my Audi. Tried Motorway and got £4,922 at auction, and the guy knocked me down to £4,700 after finding a few faults at handover - so... dealership wasn't actually far away in my case (Audi TTD S-Line Convertible with just under 70k miles, and well-maintained and recently serviced, for reference)

Hi @ArfurAnt , Do you have a link to this page please. The link they sent me is not working for me and they do not respond to my emails. Thanks

Is it not this one?

Just a quick question for anyone part-exchanging their current car: have you had a valuation from TGB's Buy Online Team and, if so, how does the amount offered compare with, say, WeBuyAnyCar's figure?

After having to replace the windscreen a month ago - hit by a rock the size of a tennis ball on the motorway, ending a decade without a single issue - I wanted rid of my p/x before incurring any more unforeseen costs.

I had an appraisal for my p/x at my local dealership - took lots of pictures, went through the service book, etc. - and received a valuation that would stand for four weeks.

WBAC offered a few hundred more; Cazoo a bit more again.

In the end - on a dark and wintery evening a couple of weeks ago - I sold the car to WBAC. I booked an appointment, turned up on time and the poor chap (freezing in an unheated PortaKabin in a car park, wondering why he left West Africa for this nonsense) took nearly two hours to complete the sale, as the tablet computer would not save the videos of engine and exhaust required by their purchasing app. Top bloke, though.

After the £75 administrative fee and £30 immediate payment fee, I received...

*drum roll*

£1.02 more than Toyota offered!

Admittedly nothing on the scale of @GR86 's recent lottery win, but it should buy enough petrol to get to the petrol station to buy more petrol.

While I'm sure it's possible to get more elsewhere, I am instinctively distrustful of a stranger turning up and carting away my asset on the back of a flat-bed. It was nice to leave the car behind, knowing that everything was done and dusted and the money was already in my account.

Up until very recently I was planning on giving my car to Cazoo as they had the highest offer. However I used the Toyota online part ex valuation last night and that is showing £300 higher than Cazoo now. So will likely part ex it instead.

I have done that one but it does not look like the interface from ArfurAnts post.

Arfur's post is a screenshot of the "with the upcoming arrival of your new Toyota, let's get your drive home insurance ready" email Toyota sent. They are being sent individually so you might not have received yours yet?

Marshalls, Tunbridge wells
Thanks. I'm with Beadles in Medway and haven't heard a thing. Sent an email last night and might try phoning.
Completely sucks that just like that, the ETA can go back another month when the delivery is so close. How utterly frustrating.

I have a test drive booked for tomorrow, but was hoping my car came today/yesterday so I could take a look at it whilst there. Would of then paid for the car. I want to see my car before I pay the full amount. Just to make sure it hasn't fallen of the lorry 🤣

Well, literally as I finished typing that last post, I got a reply to my email query to the dealer asking if they knew when my car was turning up....

Wonder how they select cars for transport to dealers. Take one off the front of the queue? Guess they are all parked nose to tail. Wonder if colours get mixed or separated. Group a dealers deliveries together so if you are a small dealer like mine you have to wait till they have a Yaris and a couple of Corolla’s to go with it ?

Cheers. I called the online team today. They said yes the initial people who got the wrong link were confused because they changed insurers. So he sent me the new link
https://www.toyotadrivehome.co.uk/
and asked me to try again.
3 Day insurance is needed for them to register as others say. It fills the gap between ones own insurance at the hand over time. Mine will slip to January. Initially it was 2 Dec!

I've been talking to insurance too, they say my decline was genuine (surprising given my pretty vanilla risk profile) and that I would need to have insurance in place before they could register the car.

Then said the car should be with my dealer (Gatwick) next week :)

At last, it seems that customers are actually going to be getting their cars! It got to a point where I wasn't sure it'd ever happen!
I'm still not convinced. Not until I am standing in front of the car with the keys in my hand.
I am half expecting an email "ooooop, sorry, mistake, your car is still processing, lolololol, whoopsie!! Toyota xoxox"

I haven't had the notification about signing documents yet. Going to be a right kick in the nadgers if the car is ready for me and I can't collect it until TUK send me the documents to sign :/
