GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Paid my deposit today the rest PCP. Toyota said it won’t make the car come earlier by paying promptly!

I’m having bother sorting the 3 day drive away insurance, when I call them they say they cannot sort it out as I don’t have a registration number!

Car is due mid December according to Toyota uk.

I've just spoken to Listers about the white one it isn't actually for sale, it's their demo and has only been listed for stock tracking which is why its on for a stupid price. I suspect thats the same with the black one.

I had such a ball ache with this.

“We can’t give you drive home till you had your reg” and “We can’t give you your reg until you have drive home”

I ended up managing to get what number plate was allocated to the car and then the Toyota insurance guy was like we can’t approve it anyway as we don’t have a delivery date as delivery from the 1st is too vague.

I just rage quit and put the number plate they gave me into my admiral quote and got that sorted.
 
I'm trying to be pleased some cars have been shipped but finding it hard not to be annoyed they are doing it in a random order with no information being given. Standard practice so far I know but very annoying.

It possibly depends on deliveries to your nominated dealer 🤔

Exactly what happened to me, and exactly what I’m doing. I can’t be arsed with toyota anymore so just gonna buy insurance on the day.
 
The other reason for taking out the free three day policy is so that the car can be registered and taxed which I believe needs to have insurance in place. I had no problem filling it in, the email gives really clear instructions on what to put in nearly every field. Mine came out at a shade under £400 if I did want to take out a full policy with them which didn’t seem to bad.

They didn’t approve me or my partner. Couldn’t see why not and then when women checked it she was like there is nothing miss-clicked. Was a bit annoying. Managed to get it sorted anyway now but was really annoying if it just didn’t work. Maybe I live in the wrong postcode for Toyota :).
 
Mine failed as I had no NCB on this new car so I had to call. They said I had the option to select 2 years introductory due to having 10+ on my other car but I had to provide the reg first. Even though I explained numerous times the email said it wasn’t needed ,

That's useful, thanks. Mine failed twice and I gave up. I was only putting 1 year NCB not the 10+ on my main policy. It also doesn't recognise the reg number Toyota gave me.

My sales guy told me that Toyota changed underwriters very recently, and so their new underwriting systems reject pretty much every proposal that isn't 100% squeaky clean with full NCB... I think we as customers are feeling the effects of this implementation.
 
No, they gave me a silly annual quote on the webpage so I must've done things right, I didn't get any email confirmation though and haven't had anything since. As soon as I know my car is at the dealer (theoretically today) I'll contact the insurance people direct to see what is going on.
 
Just a quick question for anyone part-exchanging their current car: have you had a valuation from TGB's Buy Online Team and, if so, how does the amount offered compare with, say, WeBuyAnyCar's figure?

I had one, but only over the phone with someone from TUK (or maybe my local dealer? 🤔)
It was over 2k (25%) lower than what carwow/motorway offered me with their online valuation. Keep in mind that they didn’t even see the car, it was all over the phone, but it successfully turned me away from doing their part ex
