GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Although in all honesty, I've been thinking it through this morning and I love the Supra.

I'm like this with my Yaris now. Love it way more than I expected and it's not going anywhere... So now, is the 86 special enough to keep as a 2nd car 🤔

Interestingly the dealer wasn't interested in buying the 86 at a premium for fear of getting told off by Toyota and suggested I sell it privately.

So not sure whether to put it on motorway (not sure if other dealers would be as worried, especially if not a Toyota one?)
Or to chuck it on the market place.

There will be dealers that don't care, for sure. My most local main dealer quite happily sells GRY above list.

I'm in a similar boat, hence why I will need the GR86 test drive to make sure. I'm not ready to give up the GRY yet, so trying to work out the man maths to see if I can keep both!

Has anyone who's chosen a dealer that isn't a nominated GR centre managed to arrange a test drive already?

I'm tempted to just ask them to finalise my order without any undue delay. Don't fancy getting messed around by another dealer and picking up the car on the other side of Christmas.

Is it OK to delay a car or change its colour once its entered build?

Mines still processing, I've a fiesta to keep me entertained until 2024

Got the e-mail, straight onto the phone to book a spot, but dealers don't have any update on when car will be available for test drive. Either way 1st Dec onwards looks good so may not even get a chance for test drive.

Trying not to be cynical, but if they're going through these at the same speed as they did with the welcome calls, I'm not expecting my email until after some people have received their car...
I take it back, I've just received the email as well. Good news

I am also with Leeds, but I don't think they've ever called me unprompted.
I had a 1k deposit with the Leeds dealer back in March, which they had to pay back once it went online. But I did make it very clear I wanted a test drive with my Wife before the car arrived. Since then they have been in regular contact by Mail & Phone, no complaints really about the Dealership.

Asked my dealer (St Albans) about test drive and they seemed unaware of the email that's gone out or when theirs would turn up. They said they'd contact me ASAP once it's in and ready though.

Confirmed with the online team which ship my car is on. It is Grand Pearl even though it's not listed on Bristol Port's forward movements. She's currently not far from the Suez canal, I'm guessing another couple of weeks until it arrives in the UK. Delivery before Christmas is probably a long shot but if the delivery wheels start turning in anger who knows...

My Dealer (Leeds) rang this morning to tell me they are expecting their demo within the next ten days.
Once its PDI she will call to arrange a test drive.
I'm with Bradford but they're not on the list so I might have to see if Leeds will let me have a test drive. I don't particularly want to swap dealers either as mine have been great and its only a mile or so away from where I want to get PPF installed.

Local GR Dealer confirmed they're expecting a demo car to arrive on 16/11 & will call me when they have it to arrange a test drive. Ive also committed to the purchase via the email reply as figured it'll be worth buying regardless, test drive just something to look forward to in the meantime.

I see there are 64 places listed in the email. Does that mean that there are 64 demo cars in circulation? Or will there only be like 10 cars be shared around.

Toyota GB person I spoke to said there would be at least one demo for every GR centre.

Phoned the dealer and got the guy who will be the GR contact. He's off for training on it next week, demo should be there end of next week. Has no visibility of my car/wants to look. At this point it doesn't matter.

No contact from my dealer, even though they phoned me initially to share the ETA of the 16/11 and promised to keep me updated. Maybe the fact that I replied and said no need to bother with a test drive means they don't bother phoning.

Got my email too. It seems the phone call I had last night from my dealer was off the back of them receiving the same news.

As much as I thought my dealer had been unusually quiet, I’m glad they got that information to me as soon as it was available. Now I just need to find someone to buy the Supra haha.

Got mine as well and replied immediately about concluding the purchase without a test drive. Do you think I could still arrange a test drive regardless? It looks like they want you to call one of the GR centres yourself, so it seems to me like this would be possible to anyone (even without an order) to book a test drive.

This would kill some time between now and December...
