GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I’ve emailed my dealer asking for a test drive for early next year. I’m a long way off delivery (not even built yet) but thought I may as well try it as soon as I can. Said to obviously prioritise those with cars in U.K. but if they have it sitting there doing nothing I may as well have a go.

Yup:

"We are pleased to announce that customer deliveries of the highly anticipated GR86 will commence from 1st December 2022…and your car is in the first batch, anticipated to be delivered before Christmas!"

Still plenty of opportunity for disappointment in that statement ;)

Trying not to be cynical, but if they're going through these at the same speed as they did with the welcome calls, I'm not expecting my email until after some people have received their car...
 
Email received a few minutes ago - called local GR centre who first told me its not a GR car (I updated them on that), then asked whether the car was being delivered to them (not sure/relevant for a test drive), then we eventually got to the point and he doesnt know when they'll have a test car but if I forward the email to him he'll look into it... So maybe not everyone got the memo yet... :ROFLMAO:
 
My Dealer (Leeds) rang this morning to tell me they are expecting their demo within the next ten days.
Once its PDI she will call to arrange a test drive.
 
Taking the piss a bit to test drive at another dealer? For various reasons I've elected a dealer 80 miles away so have replied saying no TD required
 
Also got the email about test drives. I noticed my car dealer in the list of places for test drive, which is interesting because my car is scheduled before their own demo car.

Hope my one isn't used for test drive instead

I am also with Leeds, but I don't think they've ever called me unprompted.
 
Got the email. Mine is auto which is not available to test drive anyway so gave that a pass. Looking forward to my new car now hopefully in December
I assume part exchange valuation process need to start couple of weeks before December.
 
My dealer suggested saying "yes finalise my order" to prevent delays and still go for a test drive if I fancy🤣

Nah nowhere near that much, that 2 litre doesn't hemorrhage its value as much as the 3 litre.

Although in all honesty, I've been thinking it through this morning and I love the Supra.

Interestingly the dealer wasn't interested in buying the 86 at a premium for fear of getting told off by Toyota and suggested I sell it privately.

So not sure whether to put it on motorway (not sure if other dealers would be as worried, especially if not a Toyota one?)
Or to chuck it on the market place.

Would be interesting to see what one would fetch on the open market.
