GR86 GR86 Confessions

Thought I would put this in the confession thread, to confess my anal tendencies😉🤣🤣🤣
Had one a few years ago for my TVR, and it kept the chassis bone dry, so thought it would be a good idea. It’s so easy, undo two zips, roll door up and drive out/in. Because there is a constant flow of air circulating, it helps dry, and if the car is wet when put away will also dry it off, also stops any mildew forming during the winter months.
An early Christmas present👍🤣

I had a Carcoon for my Elise. I have a good sized double garage but even the small sized one was quite big for it.
They are a good investment for a car but found it a bit pointless for my needs as I wasn’t getting the car wet in the winter. I bought it mainly to keep osmosis of the GRP happening over the winter really.

Forgive me Fathers/Mothers, it has been many months since my last confession.

My name is Silver Fox and I confess that:

When my car is having the first service at the Toyota service centre this week...

...I'm going to let them...

...wash it.

Oh my... Did you get some TCut for Christmas, and, erm, need to test it out?

I confess that with modest power and excellent traction control, I have got complacent in the wet again. On a straight, the wheels spun up going into 3rd and I went sideways sh1tting myself. Luckily my quick reactions, or possibly the ESC :), saved the day. Stay safe!

Oh wow how comes?

OK here goes... my confession

I've not driven mine since the start the beginning of December
I've not washed it since September
Living in Reykjavík for the year - an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Did consider selling the GR but anyone I've mentioned it to has just said "WHY?" 😂

@Nigel L Im looking for a new colour for my wheels (also an Ice Silver) and like the look of yours, have you any more photos or the colour code/name as it looks great, (I hate black wheels!)

I've only done 550 in 4 months! Hopefully more opportunity to enjoy it by the spring.

Mine is still sat in the garage with 14 miles on it. Got it before Xmas. Waiting on paint protection package to be applied.
Looking forward to the summer.

Worth doing, I had mine done 2 months after picking up 12 months ago and it had already got 2 chips on the nose, the paint is as tough as melted cheese!

Exactly, that’s why it hasn’t been driven yet.
The guy who I had organised to do it has fallen down the stairs so is out of action for a month or so.
The car isn’t going to get used in the winter / salt anyway so not a big problem.
Gives me time to get the ducktail fitted before ceramic.
