GR86 GR86 - Auto Fold Mirror Kit

I’ve just ordered what is basically a roll of loft insulation. I intend on lining the inside of the door card with this insulation, to try and irradiate the buzzing noise from the plastic liner when the stereo is on above a certain volume/bass setting (as it will press against and cushion the plastic liner). It will probably serve to protect the module too, I guess 🙄

This was bothering me, so I took the door card off on my lunch break. It may have been my imagination, but I think I could see a very small amount of corrosion on one pin in the module. I’ve remounted it upside down and re-routed the cables. While I was in there I also pushed the membrane tight to the sealant and added some tape on the larger holes. I’m a bit more confident in the longevity now.

Just to add to my experience. I've just fitted focal speakers and the back of the standard speakers had water sat on them (it rain all yesterday). It seems the doors leak like a sieve, lol.

New Mod Society box on order,I miss the mirrors folding when locking the car 😂

I've just had my insurance renew, and the question of modifications obviously came up while doing comparisons. Ended up staying with Quotemehappy, but the question of declaring the mod was lingering. Has anyone declared this?

I looked through the entire list and the only things that could apply are "Upgraded External Mirrors" or "Other". I went with upgraded external mirrors, as it is technically an upgrade to the function of the wing mirrors. I was hesitant to try "Other" as I have a feeling that QMH will just reject any modifications that don't meet their very large list - they rejected any remap when I was thinking about getting a bit more out of my other car.

Adding the modification left the price unchanged at £330.78. If the price had changed either way I'd be hesitant as it would show they consider the risk to have changed, but same price = same risk, so I'm inclined to accept it and leave it at that. Any thoughts appreciated.

I went through LV this year and the renewal was £600 with all mods declared (and my car is far from standard). 10yr NCB, 55yr old, claim in May 2023 on another car (not at fault, hit and run so had to claim on own policy)

Hi guys, I've just bought a mod society mirror and window kit after reading through these comments. Unfortunately it didn't work for some reason 😕 the mirrors didn't fold and windows did nothing as well as the drivers door not locking when pressing the button but passenger side does lock. Could it be pinned wrong for some reason? The box they sent me looked very similar to an AliExpress kit with all the Chinese writing and stickers which I had already tried before that also did the same thing.
