that 5k redline reminds me of US diesel trucks. although they many had 3k redline. still funny.

Maybe im the only weirdo, but i like the New interior more than the mk1 style. Especially because the Screen is IN the dashboard and not just mounted on top.
Gives me E30 vibes😎! My father owned one when i was a kid and it was the first thing i remembered when i saw mk2 interior 😅😅

cool - did not know this. what's the rev limit cold? appears haven't pushed cold engine that much.

I like the E30 too. I even had several of them. But the cockpit also looks better than the shit in the Yaris. In addition, the one from the E30 is 30 years old, the one from the Yaris 2024. I just can't sugarcoat it.
 
The whole 'we've positioned the dash towards the driver' idea is brilliant in theory. Who here doesn't want a car that's even more driver-oriented?

IMO, it's a load of marketing nonsense as far as the new GRY is concerned. They've mainly just tilted the screen and the air con controls and put a big curved box around it.

Personally, I've no issue reaching any of the controls in the MK1 while sitting back in my seat with a helmet on (I'm on lowering brackets). Surely in a MK2 you should be less reliant on the central screen when you also have a digital dash – assuming you can display your navigation where the speedo is?

Also… Why bother with dual zone climate control if you're gonna point the passenger controls and vents at the driver?! It's just looks like a badly implemented gimmick.

I love the really simple speedo and rev counter in the MK1. For me, the whole point of the GR is to celebrate analogue driving pleasure.
