GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

But it's lower if you have kids? Did I read that correctly? I have three 😁
You did read that right, however only for cars that have 5 seats or more... Which isn't the Yaris ;)
It also starts counting from the third child only - yes you read that right.
-20g CO2 / KM per child from third onwards.

62.000 euros was the price for the current MK1 in Norway this past year.
2 years ago it was around 49k.

New one will definitely be 70+ here.
All due to taxes of course...

Gotta love those crazy French bastards. Linear or progressive increases? They've heard of them 😂

The list price was similar to DE, BE, LU etc., about €38k, but there is an annually increasing first registration tax or 'malus' based on CO2 which for 2021 was €7,850, and has increased every year.

If the new Yaris has the same CO2 as the original, this would mean a frankly insane malus of €35,346 on top of the list price!
Mk2 has it funnily higher. it has 190g/km whereas mk1 had 186g/km - worse aerodynamics?

Speaking to a French colleague who's a petrol head, he sees a 25% uplift generally in UK vs FR new car pricing.

Is that comparing euro to pound or after the currency conversion?

It is a bit strange the CO2 has risen when most manufacturers manage to squeeze a little more performance and still manage to drop the published figure by a few grams.

Maybe Toyota are just too honest… 😉

Larger exhaust valves and more heat escaping together with more/better cooling can ironically mean (a little bit) less efficient at low loads

One example he gave was the BMW i4 M50 xDrive he just got here in the UK.

76k in UK, which is €89k, same car in France is €110k, so 23% higher

I think we'll see the car with limited or no options, manual £36/37k, auto £2k more. It'll come out under the £40k mark even for the most expensive version.

We will see.

The original on France was €39,400 for the circuit which equates to £33,600. Pretty much equal. I'm expecting £42-45 depending on options here.

Edit: don't know why I had to re-register. Seem to have lost my profile but allowed me to resign up using the same credentials saved in my password manager.

List price for the first car was £36,500 in the most expensive paint options by July ‘22, over 18 months ago, so I don’t think there’s much chance of that price for the new version. We shall see.

My take on Q1:
- it will have more power (+25hp /+10Nm, EU version)
- it will weigh more (+20kg to Mk1)
- Auto box as an option (add's weight 50kg to manual, costs 5k€ extra)
- JBL stereo as a standard option
- Seating Position will be lower
- There will be some kind of new paint scheme (Dark or light blue?)

Q2:
No Sir, I wont. Mk1 is "better". Don't miss that extra power.
Mk1 is true homologation special and their best iteration, even it has its quirks. Would love the upgraded valve train from GRC though (if it trickles the Turbo + Valve springs to GRY Mk2 too)
Congrats, I guess you nailed almost everything, and it was more than 6 months ago 😲 (and totally agree with Q2 reply)
