GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

It’s coming to Estonia (excuse the bad English translations by insta). First cars will arrive in autumn. I’ll be sticking with my newly arriving MK1 as it’s more than enough for kindergarten run and the odd b road blast. I do love the grey on the MK2 though.

Toyota Sweden made their 1st post online yesterday about the MK2, maybe check with your dealer once again

Trollhättan.

I just asked to try to get some more information about it, I will receive my mk1 Saturday, no plans to get the Mk2.

Where did you saw the post? The website is still with the old information

But it is like OneHp said, they don't plan to bring it, until they do...

Edit:Just saw the post on Instagram. Maybe they told me that because of the online orders

The deal-breaker for me with the upcoming MK2 is going to be how intrusive the driver assists are. It's surprisingly easy for these features to ruin a good car.

The thing that's bugged me the most about the MK1 since day one is how you can't permanently turn off most of the assists, unless you go for some questionable dongle from eBay. It's incredibly frustrating. If the MK2 comes with even more of these assists that can't be disabled or are tougher to turn off, then I'll be more than happy to stick with what I have. Unlike the new M2 and Civic Type R, where you can easily disable these features and don't have to push a bunch of buttons every time you start the car.

I understand that these assists are required by regulations and can be useful for some, but personally, I'd love to be able to disable all of them. I hate them with a passion. To me, a true "driver's car" shouldn't have any computer interference, no matter how minimal.

I agree with you (100%).

Suggestion: We need only one button for deactivation.
With the possibility to configure this button, which assistants will be deactivated...

Mk2 has a custom drive mode, remains to be seen what exactly can be programmed on it...

I'm sure you'll be smitten with your MK1 ;) Interesting to also see what the actual price of the MK2 will be in EE. I think the last MK1 order prices were 43k-ish eur? The new one will most likely be that plus a couple of k eur, at the very least. And if the eventual car tax comes (2025?), purchasing a brand new MK2 will be yet more expensive (first registration aditional tax of 4-5k eur based on today's estimates).

I do love my GR86 for its lack of annoying driver aids. No lane assist, no road sign warnings ...

Yeah, circuit pack MK1 is costing me 43k.. Which is considerably less than all the dull family wagons my wife was choosing for me at the time of order! haha

The new car tax coming to EE is the scary part if its a long wait again.. Another reason to stick with new MK1.

How is yours coping with the recent cold spell?

This lengthy video provides an excellent in-depth look at both the interior and exterior, even though it's entirely in Japanese:

interesting video. in mk1 you had issues with oil temp even though water was fine, but mk2 seems to get higher water temps (was peaking 105-109'C in this video even with not really full monty circuit driving, in damp)

guy explaning that in wet likely the mk1 softer chassis is better

Interesting that those cars have no sensor package on the screen

Was both the manual and automatic. Can only assume it’s because they are pre-production versions.

The ones featured in other videos did have them though.
