My experience with sign recognition shows it can't be relied on and my wire connected phone drops out regularly which is why I am assuming sat nav and gps is now standard. They can't make everyone connect their phone.

Mine picked up an overhead gantry on the M4 national limit signs the other day when I was driving alongside it in a 40.

I agree. If it's gonna be skittish over a bit of gravel or shallow pot hole, it will ruin a perfect setup and you don't need to be at 9/10th's to feel that.
 
Sent a test query of gray manual mk2 to a friendly sales rep to keep him busy.
Finance rate is 6.5% in their offer so quite bit higher than what it is currently (almost double the monthly payment compared to current mk1..!)
Estimated delivery time for generic model is 24wks, but they do have some preordered cars that have 9wk delivery time.
All in all, expensive 72k car.

With this price level tempting to go for Alpine 110S /GT or Porsche GT4 even though either of those fit the use case of GR with its LW family hauler / rally car.
But not really an acute dilemma.

with the current chassis and engine improvements it might be a step backwards in generic performance, although mk2 could be more refined. In practice, its more or less the same car, if you look it from the distance. to me its all about chassis and balance, the other stuff is prio2 / secondary.

In Belgium, an Alpine A110GT is at least 50% more expensive. A Cayman GT4 is more than double the price (but can't be ordered anymore). Even second hand they are way more expensive than the Yaris.

There are now 7 new GR Yaris MK1 at my local dealer available. Special price for a Circuit pack has come down to 39,900 Euro (33,935.75 GBP) on one of them I see. Bargain if you are in the market for one with no waiting time either.

Yeah with tax free track toy the price is closer but yeah different league

Not in Belgium. GT4 costs around 100k before tax, (New) Yaris GR 50k before tax.
But... track toy wise, there will also be a big difference. At Zolder, I easily got a 1:50 laptime on my 718 GTS, I'll be happy if I get 1:55 on my Yaris (with a lot of effort)

I drove a 1m49.7 on Zolder 20 years back in my EVO 8 MR RS.. 1m50 should be feasible in the GRY.

At least your dealer can give you a date. Many of us were in limbo for Months / Years (The Germans) until the app randomly came alive. Seems like they are on top of things a bit more this time around.
 
Just procrastinating at work watching the new Tsuchiya review of the Mk2 Yaris and noticed even the heated steering wheel button has moved (you don't need to worry about this in the UK đŸ˜‰) and it does look like the StopStart button has now gone.

Do you see your estimated delivery dates in app or is pestering the dealer needed? Does dealer get info or does he need to check everything manually?

Nothing on the app works until it actually gets scheduled for build and then more happens once its in build. It comes from the dealers end.
