Im not actually after one but entered the ballot as I kept renewing my interest in the car so got the option to enter.
Im more than happy with my first allocation of 400 ish GR 86's which seems like theres 1500 now!!
The real reason I guess for the low initial numbers of GRY 2 is that Toyota need to sell enough carbon free cars to sell these....heavy taxes to Toyota are involved.....and the UK market has no interest in an electric car because there isnt a cheap option available !!
Its not a 45k car to my eyes but may well be more than that when people actually wise up to we cant buy what we want anymore!!

I suspect it’s more to do with its this years allocation from a summer production run up to Christmas. My car was one of the 400 of 2020’s batch, subsequent years had more allocated.

I do however think the numbers will be lower whilst they continue to make the GRC as production slowed for the Yaris when they went into build.

You did, I noticed this too. I'm now thinking this will be a lot more rare in the UK moving forward. They did also say they will be making more of the MK2.
 
Got 2 invites to join the ballot as bought a new white but also went on the waiting list for a red. So twice as likely to be eligible for a car i don’t want because it’s too expensive!

The T&C’s state only 1 entry possible so even if you did go for it I suspect their system would figure it out.

Couldn't find anything related to Auto Start Stop in car's manual so could be its removed. or then its not possible to be switched off. Though if it was there guess it should be mentioned as a feature in manual.

Another thought/question. Looking at the cabin photos there is a map on the screen but no hard wire phone in sight. Does it have built in sat nav or wireless apple car play/android auto? The shelf where most people put their phone when not ‘sending it’ has been lost by the lower screen.
 
Doesn't the new regulations regarding speed mean there must be inbuilt sat nav for them to work?
My experience with sign recognition shows it can't be relied on and my wire connected phone drops out regularly which is why I am assuming sat nav and gps is now standard. They can't make everyone connect their phone.
Maybe someone can clear this up.

Both built-in navigation and wireless carplay/android auto are confirmed.

If you wonder about features, just download the user manual from the official Toyota website, it's already there for a month.
 
I was under the impression that the government mandates the Auto Start/Stop feature, and it must default to ON for new vehicles to be legally sold, although this likely varies by region. I'm pretty sure the USA mandates it, but I'm not sure about the EU and other parts of the world.
