GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Received the email today, so threw my name into the hat as well.

Sure am glad that I don't reside in Ireland: THE NEW TOYOTA GR YARIS costs €85,925 (looks like a hefty tax on emissions, plus an annual road tax of €790, which must hit hard!) o_O

Seems like '18" machined alloy wheels' is the only option available - do these not come with forge wheels as standard?!

Sure, I'm glad that I'm not residing in Ireland too!
But at least Toyota Ireland is the first in Europe who set up an actual and very clear configurator for the Mk2, and a very well working one.
And yes, it looks like forged wheels are not offered even as an option. :oops:

Here in SE Asian countries, the MK1 was priced in the $80-100k USD range. The new MK2 will be $100k+, guaranteed.

The new Type R in Thailand costs $109k USD.

we did not get any of those here in Finland. Would have been nice option for sure, although the paint will be a challenge.
 
Recd my ballot entry but have decided not to enter. Good luck to those enthusiasts who have entered. Just sold my GR86 nice car but I found it far too loud on a motorway. Too much tyre and suspension noise hopefully the mk2 Yaris will be better but GR86 experience has put me off. A bit left field but have ordered an M2 instead with a decent discount. Look forward to reading the reviews when the lucky winners get their cars.
 
I got the invite but for me after owning a couple of the OG GR's its not worth 45k @8.9% plus all the extra car tax for so few upgrades and worse wheels so I will pass, those of you that still have yours keep them and drive them knowing what a great deal you got.
 
Driver is short shifting on the manual gearbox 0-60 runs. Using third to get there rather than maxing out second.

I do agree on the black spoiler, especially on white car. I guess they did it so the other colors would get a better match.

First thing: I want that track on my backyard!!
Second thing: the Mk2 manual will be a winner on ordinary and B-roads, my humble opinion (and biased by my Mk2 order, of course).
Third thing: Rovanpera Ed is the more insane one, screaming like a Godzilla rising from the sea!
Overall: all GRYs are a fantastic thing to drive (maybe GRMN the more special one, like a 22B Impreza), so, just three words...: thank you Morizo!! :love:
