Has anybody in the UK been contacted yet about the ballot? I had the email to say I would be contacted however not heard anything and just seen this on the Toyota website. States people have been contacted to enter the draw?

It’s been mentioned on here or elsewhere that it’s a poor choice of words and means this eligible to enter the ballot have been informed. The original text said early May we will find out along with a press release at the same time.

Mine ends with 00036, so if it really is related with some kind of order in a queue, I guess it's a different list country by country (Italy, in my case).

Thanks both, maybe it doesn’t mean anything then. For what it’s worth, my preorder was officially confirmed by Toyota France on 9th February, then transformed into a final order on 3rd April.
 
I emailed TOL as I didn't receive an email but I was still on waiting list, they said my email was on it but not sure why I didn't get it. They have added me to the mailing list and said the notice of the ballot would be later this month.

Prior to posting this I emailed Toyota online and just to clarify I’ve had this response today.

“Hi Dave,

Thank you for your email.

Please do not worry - no customer's within the UK have been contacted yet to enter the ballot. Further details are to be shared with customer's later this month. ”

So sounds like early May is out of the question and will likely be towards the end of the month.

I must say it’s a huge shame (judging by how other countries on here are reporting) Toyota in general not just in the UK is very poor at keeping people informed. From announcements to ballots to guesstimate delivery dates, everything is very vague and secretive 🤐

Mine is entered in the Toyota system (I have a screenshot :D) 06.03.2024
Then it says 2 dates: 07-2024 which is scheduled production date and 05-2024 (no idea what his date means).
 
Great news in my inbox this morning! 🎉
Toyota wrote me that the production of my white manual Mk2 has been started today!
My dealer confirmed that, and gave me a very tentative delivery deadline between July and August.
Really earlier than expected, hope this won't be too good to be true...

Crazy that cars are in build and yet in the UK we still aren’t in a position to have an order.
 
Which country got first dibs with the mk1 production run?

UK's first batch of cars arrived November 2020 and customers got them in the final days of November/first week of December.

I picked mine up 1-12-20, would have been 30-11-20 had the system to register new cars at handover not crashed while I was in the dealer waiting to be handed the car.

That's amazing, congrats and thanks for informing us.
 
Has anyone else received confirmation? My dealer also has no information on when my order will be produced.
 
If it's anything like the Gen1 orders it's just waiting for the MyT app to update, until that happens it's a guessing game when you may get your car. Some countries seemed to get orders faster than others first time round - Swedes getting orders delivered within 6 months of ordering, the Germans waiting over 2 years. Hopefully that does not repeat for the Gen2 orders.

Actually I knew about the starting of the production of my car from an email and a whatsapp message at the same time, since on MyToyota App (the new version with the white Toyota badge on black background) the order appeared for just a few days after I placed it, and then disappeared abruptly.
My dealer is trying and reinstating it on my account, but with no result so far.
It looks quite strange to me as well that my car could arrive so much earlier than expected, and that so far it is the only one that started production among those ordered by members of this forum.
But my dealer confirmed that he can see the production started even on Toyota online tracking system (he was surprised by the news himself as well), and so let's wait and see.
Maybe Toyota decided randomly to assign to customers some cars out of the incoming demo-cars batch, who knows?
