GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

One TGR japanese guys had some misfire - engine stuff going on today - not sure what was it and if they got it fixed but sounded something like ignition related.

Here in France, with our stupid "CO2 taxation", with the 2024 refresher, (each year it get's more severe) assuming the MK2 is sold at the SAME price as the MK1 was three years ago, it would bring the price to an astounding 70 000 € ! We all assume it will cost substantially more than the MK1, so going on a base of 45 000 €, adding the CO2 tax it would cost an eye-popping 76 500 € ! And that is IF you receive the car the same year as when you placed the order... obviously more expensive if delivered the following year, because you pay the CO2 tax the day you register it. I doubt they will sell any in France.
Limited to 300 😂

First look at price level and options, but traditionally high taxed countries try to keep catalogue prices low...

The price is as expected really. Car prices are usually comparable between France and Germany (excluding Malus) so they're asking for about 10k EUR more than for a High-Performance specced Yaris in 2020 when they launched it originally.
Small caveat also: The forged wheels are now a 2500€ extra.

Please, please ask me what I paid🤣🤣. Ordered brand new directly from Toyota☝🏻.

50€k for a Yaris, Respect👍🏻.

Also what was the French price for the Mk1?
The list price was similar to DE, BE, LU etc., about €38k, but there is an annually increasing first registration tax or 'malus' based on CO2 which for 2021 was €7,850, and has increased every year.

If the new Yaris has the same CO2 as the original, this would mean a frankly insane malus of €35,346 on top of the list price!

Its 190g/km. How much is that?

Speaking to a French colleague who's a petrol head, he sees a 25% uplift generally in UK vs FR new car pricing.

Unexpected dilemma for me, I want the new car and have 4 new forged circuit pack alloys with tyres sat next to me.
Tempted to keep them now.

Hold on until pricing is announced I guess.
