Swapped over the exhaust tips yesterday. Really pleased with the look. The nice thing with adjustable tips is you can sit them exactly where you want.

Finally I did a cold start video, I'll be honest I wouldn't film it from 6 inches off the ground because we aren't ants nor have ears in our feet, but seeing as everyone does it this way I thought I would for consistency. It does make the microphone a bit over sensitive doing it this way. Cold start manners are good, it doesn't really have much sound power so it doesn't travel far in open space, personally I love the cold start sounds, it gives off race car vibes :cool:

I've gone for black tips on mine. I like the black look too and blending in with the other black accents on the car. And I'm lazy with keeping shiny tips clean.

My Milltek cold start is way louder than I expected. Has certainly attracted attention with the neighbours.

Now it's been a few weeks my Milltek seems to have settled down to a nice bassy tone. It started off very loud even though resonated.

Looking forward to an opportunity when several of us can get together and compare the various options we have all gone for 👍
 
Any thoughts on which Exhaust is the best all rounder between the Milltek Non Resonated and the Cobra Non Resonated? (Resonated sounds a bit too quiet IMO).

Hi @Knotty

I have the resonated Milltek. You will need to really like noise and boom constantly in the car to go for the non-resonated IMO.

I have the Cobra non-resonated and I have not suffered from any 'boom' effect, drone or unpleasant noise at any RPM from 1K all the way to 6.5K. If anything, I'd say it could actually do with being a bit louder. That said, it has a fine OEM+ sound that suits the car. As I pulled onto my driveway, one of the 'Bin-men' commented that it sounded fantastic. :cool:
But hey, don't take just my word for it - ask @Alistair31, he's got exactly the same system as me ... :unsure:
 
Funny how opinions vary on exhausts. I had the remark on for almost a year before finally deciding to take it off. I found it a bit too loud but it was actually much better after recent addition of sound deadening to the boot floor.

I’m daily driving the car now and work shifts so I thought it was for the best…I do miss the occasional pops on downshifts though! Need to get round to posting it for sale.
