Civic Type R

Judging by the delivery mile ones on Autotrader at Honda dealers asking £55-60K I guess few will get driven by or even sold to enthusiast and become collectors trophies like GT Porsches

What a crying shame

Crazy stuff isn't it? It's like that yellow FK8 special edition that listed for 40k and is now 50-60 grand odd.

I might go down to Honda tomorrow and noise them up - offer them my GR Yaris for their demo FN5 CTR.
Plus they have to give me 20 grand.

I had a new shape Jimny which I sold to buy the GRY and I could have and should have bought a GR86 at list :(

What a three car garage that would have been but I am grateful with what I have (I guess).

I don't understand the filosophy of building a "big" chassis and then keeping it as a four seater.
well, it has a larger trunk space but that's about it. Maybe Civic has outgrown too.

Hijacking the thread slightly but I considered an i30N. Then the Yaris appeared and it was what I’d been waiting for. The i30N looks quite practical though with great handling and I would still like to test drive one to see what it’s like, even a few years after first hearing about it .

Maybe a good swap instead of another Golf GTI (I sold my Mk7 for the Yaris arrival) when my OH’s i20 (not the N version!) has to go. We are currently a 2 x 3 door car household and need something bigger.
My brother has a GRY and I bought the N. Both of us like different aspects of each others cars! GRY is planted in this weather but the N is good fun too as it’s a nicely set up chassis and easy to lift off oversteer etc. The noise is pretty addictive too. Mine is the facelift manual with the light seats, it’s a keeper for me, massively improved over the pre facelift in pretty much all departments, noticeably more powerful!

It’s thirsty as anything though, shares the engine block with the 4B11T from the Evo X although it’s a closed deck rather than semi closed in the Evo so theoretically stronger, uses the same pistons and rods too. Old tech but good fun all the same.

Hadn't seen your wave adventure :D
A shameful chapter in my life!

Re. the Type R, I've only seen one (the black one mentioned above); I'm looking forward to seeing a white one. I do like a Type R (of any iteration) in white.
