Yes, you can have them come on automatically or manually?

I guess this might be a "no way to turn the lights off completely" argument.

In auto mode you have DRL in daylight but sidelights, number plate lights, rear lights and dash lights when dark

In sidelights mode you have those, number plate lights, rear lights and dash lights on all the time

In headlights mode you have headlights, sidelights, number plate lights, rear lights and dash lights on all the time

There's no "off" or "just DRL" setting.

I'm happy with auto

There is no off option tho, I've driven in perfectly good light and the lights have insisted on coming on. There is no way to stop that

Have you got a book or something sat on the dash?

When we test drove one the dealer popped the trade plate on the dash covering the sensor so the head lights kept coming on

But you're right. There's no off.

The nearest to off is to turn the side lights on

The DRL are on, that's a legal requirement for new cars. But you can always put your sidelights on if you don't want your headlights to come on at all.

Nothing at all on the dash, never have, never will. It just bugs me there's no off position, hasn't been for a while on toyotas

I'm going to add the hands-free experience with the phone. In my Skoda I can have an easy relaxed conversation but the Yaris isn't clear, so I end up taking the volume to max, when it's still not clear but is slightly louder.

And how come telephone max is (numerically and sonically) quieter than the stereo? The conv speaker system is ok, but it's dreadful making a call.

And while I'm at it... cruise control. It will happily slow down/brake when coming up behind a slower vehicle, but it can't be arsed to slow when going down a hill. All it does is beep and beep to tell me that it's exceeding the cruise speed I've set. The rollercoaster of the A68 was dreadful for it last week.

If I can't persuade it to do as I've asked, I'll have to see if I can at least turn off the beeping.

I'd like to drive it more, especially on gravel roads. Toyota Should provide a subscription service (rally experience) where they keep the car's parts as new even though you trash it on the gravel stages. Rally driver -subscription.
Here. Did some gravel today. Only 20 odd km. And you can induce power oversteer in normal mode. Found that out on the way back. Bloody brilliant little thing.

With added camber front it becomes very aggressive on throttle, rotating the car, but running in Normal mode makes it manageable again. Should be posting in positives really, brilliant with adjustable power split...

Maybe it's just me.. but I found annoying that if you use the start-button ACC (listening some music, powering dash-cam, etc) you always need to cycle thru the RUN position before leaving the car. Or is there any other way?
