GR Yaris 👎 Negatives - what annoys, disappoints, puzzles and generally irks you about the GR Yaris?

Thats a good thing. Earlier this year someone started a caterham in the paddocks at Goodwood whilst stood outside. The car was in gear and off it went with no one in it.

I had a Harley that did similar.

I reckon I could have challenged Usain Bolt if I'd had to sprint after it, but with it being a Harley I didn't have to run that fast.

Yes so annoying and doesn’t seem to be any consistency. Some steep hills the cruise seems to control the brakes and then other more gentle hills it struggles the Speed Runs away and then beeps like mad.

Yeah, but we already have to have foot on brake and clutch to get it to start so that's never going to happen in a GRY.

Interesting. I use cruise control all the time and never had a beep.

You need a downhill section or you can activate it by accelerating whilst still on cruise I believe. You should get a white box around the set speed as well.

Go drive the A68. It's like a rollercoaster. It'll beep all the time.

Or... if you've managed to turn it off some how... please tell us how!

I get the white box but no beep.

I turned off a lot of things with Carista soon after getting it. Maybe it's one of those.

Yes. It's in the dash menus. Never had it on in all honesty. Asked the dealer to turn off all possible beeps when I picked my car up. Isn't the beeping a speed warning?

Just tested this, this morning and it is the clutch you have to press, just pressing the brake will not allow the car to start...

Not sure why they show both pedals, but i guess pressing both also allows the car to start!! 🤣🤣
 
back in the old days car could be moved with the starter motor, starting in gear.
In case of being stuck on railway crossing with faulty engine it could be useful treat. But Toyota trusts its engineering that much that it has been skipped from the feature list.

what section this is more spesificly ? this is annoying and will turn it off from both our cars. glad its selectable

If you are talking about what I think you are it is the overspeed tolerance on cruise set speed. You will need to navigate through the menus because it is 2 years since I did mine. And that was about 5km from the dealer on the side of the road with the sales guy talking me through the menus! I asked for everything to be off but I think they forgot or it was policy to leave all that annoying shit on. Being told to obey road rules everytime I went over the limit had already worn me out!!
