GR Yaris ๐Ÿ‘Ž Negatives - what annoys, disappoints, puzzles and generally irks you about the GR Yaris?

Hello all and having had the for a short while it's awesome overall and for most of the time a reasonably everyday car. It's never going to be a fuel efficient car locally with stop start traffic and not as easy to live with as an auto.

It's noisy and rough ride that roads don't help with this pot holes and falling apart.

This adds to stones and road muck spraying down the side and rear arches. Either mud flaps or some rear PPF should solve this.

Lack of noise from exhaust and induction it's there but very faint. Fake noise is there and sounds ok.

Getting onto the back a bit fussy with the seats.

Radio and speakers are wack but not a major issue for me.

Brake dust is crazy high, have coated the wheels which makes it easy to clean off.

Not had the experience of pheasants but makes you alert to any damage to the front / windscreen.

Thanks All

Nearly done 35k miles now and only just realised how bad 3/4 view is, my commute does not need it but just recently had to pull out of some less than square junctions and it is difficult.
I also think that the blind spot when pulling onto motorways is quite bad or changing lane, someone can easily be lost to the left of you, i always double take and might even fit one of those blind spot mirror things too. Not sure i explained that very well but hey ho!
I still love it and think it is a perfect daily!!

that's my biggest and only real gripe.

Rear three quarter visibility when pulling out of an angled junction is poor/scary.
But Iโ€™ll live with it.

Should be easy to mitigate, though.

Just place the car at 90 degrees to the road you're approaching and you have effectively turned it to a T junction, where you only need to check left & right, not any rear angles at all.

Agreed and i do that, but its those times you forget, like i said i have done 35k miles and not found it much of an issue

Yeah, definitely useful having the blind spot monitors on the CoP car.

Thatโ€™s a dilemma do you want a more noisy exhaust or to sound deaden the car?
Lol that's the million dollar question a remote valve operated exhaust would be best of both haha but needs pops and bangs. Would take away the road noise when open.

Which mode is best for reverse, or does this require another thread for long debate, that will then splinter off into which tyres are best in reverse in wet conditions...
I reckon 50/50 mode for stability. I could have thrown in a handbrake turn but would have probably ended up in a ditch.

Yep, I do that but occasionally itโ€™s just not possible.
