GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Hi not been on site for a year but thought I would share this.
I was at the dealers when the prices were announced the salesman came out with the release. The salesman said they suspect there is only on spec for the UK. No finance deals are available. and as already stated it will be ballot.

I wonder if the 'existing owners' being contacted includes people who bought their car used?
From what I was told it is only new cars. Toyota will have the information on customers purchasing the car and customers who expressed interest on the web. , a used car will not be notified to Toyota of change of ownership.

Still about 10,000 people for a few hundred cars.

A starting price of £44k is outrageous. Add high interest rates and options to that, and it's astonishing.

I'm sure it will sell out immediately, but this is exactly what I needed to see to confirm how much of a steal the MK1 purchase was - likely a bargain of the century.

Those who panic sold their MK1s are probably regretting it. The value of MK1s is now set to soar in the near future. Cheers 🍻

25-30k for your used GRY or GR86 means 15-20k to trade up for one of these 🤨

Assuming one has that much equity in the car.

My balloon payment is due in June, £15.5k. The car is perhaps worth £23k trade in, £25k private sale.

I imagine some(many?) who took the 1.9% deal are in similar boats.

Financing £35-38k at 5,6,7,8% will hurt.

Quite a clever way to thin down the numbers for a limited number of cars.

Massive price increase
Ballot restricted to those who have previously purchased or were on a wait list
If they offer finance it will be at top rates
So initial cars probably aimed at cash buyers ?

10,000 eligible or there abouts. Say 50% say no to the initial price, so you’ve got 5,000 people after the small amount of slots. People see the likely 8% financing and another 50% say no, that’s still 2,500 people for a few hundred cars.

Pretty much bang on in terms of what I expected price wise. Without subsidised finance this is likely to be twice as much per month as the original GRY.

The car is worth what people are willing to pay for it.

If they all sell out, as I suspect they will, then ipso facto they are worth £45k.
Your logic is flawed, but I forgive you :D
The fact that they sell it at this price, doesnt automatically and magically mean "it is worth it", but I understand how this could make sense.

Whilst GR yaris for 45k is not tha bad... Golf GTI for 60k, this surely must be a joke now :)

Price is more than I expected and probably as people have said that’s a lot of money towards cars in a whole different price range and more than I wanted to pay.
However I think I am on the waiting list still so may have a slim chance in the ballot so bollox to it, I am in 😆😂
