GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

How long do we give it before they sell out in the UK at those prices? France, Italy and Belgium literally both in a day or two..

That's a chunky base price.

I reckon they realised there was no way there were going to get the base price under the magic £40k limit, even if they made the forged wheels an option etc., and just decided to put some clear air underneath their ticket price.

It's basically a 33% uplift on the mk1 price. Be very interesting to see what that does to secondhand values.

With the limited allocations they will probably easily sell out anyways, so why keep the price low?
Probably fewer annoyed MK1 owners when they do it that way as well, since what people paid for the MK1 remains a very good deal.

The Mk1 owners that will be annoyed, will be the ones who sold up quickly, thinking they were going to walk into a Mk2!

Considering some people waited 2 years for their MK1, I don't understand how you could take that risk. Also, fleet emission fines... I doubt there will be many petrol powered sports cars going forwards that won't be sold in limited numbers in the european market.

I've heard rumours the Norwegian allocation will be 30 cars, and will likely be around 62k GBP, so I'm not even going to consider it. Also I prefer the looks of the MK1.

Glad I already decided against so I don’t have to do financial gymnastics to justify this or have a dilemma on my hands but sure it’ll be great. If I was buying a Yaris for the first time I’d no doubt try and get one instead of the Mk1 used, but the price differential is fairly hefty now when you factor interest rates in. On the other hand, the increase opens up a whole range of used options in the same ballpark range and I’d perhaps be tempted elsewhere. I do wonder how many of the special editions will ever be driven vs stored. Hopefully see some photos of them in use on here in due course.

FB says £44,250 for the manual, £45,750 for the auto and 60k for the special editions.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see these had already been posted (thread moves quick).

Price is OTR so should be inclusive of road tax and registration etc

Only the first years road tax is included in OTR prices? There is an additional £390 per year road tax payable for 5 years as its over £40k...

I wonder if the 'existing owners' being contacted includes people who bought their car used?
