GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Öhlins is a large term. If you mean Öhlins Road & Track then this is just a mediocre kit with a limited working window. You could compare it with Bose. They had a great marketing but the product is nothing special really.
It’s all about expectations, I guess.

Ohlins R&T is a consumer grade set of dampers, and for the money they cost (around 3k) they do the job well and give adjustability to the stock car making it more usable on different environments. I don’t think is mediocre. You get what you pay for.

Of course, you cannot compare them to Ohlins TTX, Reigers or other motorsport stuff. Neither in terms of cost nor service schedule and of course, performance. It’s a completely different league.

Now, for a upper average user, they are good. I’ve driven GR Yaris with Nitron’s from Litchfield, KW v3, I think, and Ohlins R&T, and they all are better than stock in most circumstances, and for me Ohlins R&T is the one with the best feeling, on and off track.

Maybe, If I would have found an option with a rear coilover I would have gotten that instead, with a reasonable service schedule vs hours of use. I can’t afford to have the dampers redone every 10-20k km and be without the car for days or weeks once a year.

I've just booked a test drive on a promising looking Mk 1 and got an insurance quote ready so you can guarantee the pricing announcement will come a little after 11am on Friday, if (when) I pull the trigger

Thank you for your sacrifice

It's the first time that it mentions that 0:100 and 100:0 torque distribution is now theoretically possible.
You can find this in the marketing material for any 4wd/awd system. For more in depth, have a read here, it's the same for mk2 except the calibration.

Just paid for one of the last new MK1 circuit pack’s in Estonia. €42k euro approx £36k. Will be interesting to see what the price of the new one will be when it’s revealed.
Welcome to the gang!

With only very limited numbers of the new GR Yaris available this year, Toyota (GB) is putting a tailor-made sales process in place to help ensure fairness. The company will be contacting existing GR Yaris owners and those who joined the waiting list for the car before its closure in May 2022. These customers will have the chance to enter a ballot for the opportunity to purchase a new GR Yaris from the UK’s 2024 allocation. Details of the process will be finalised and shared with customers in May.

The manual price has surprised me but auto and specials are where I was expecting.

Ouch! It will be interesting to see how much the options are, if its the same as other EU countries and the forged allows are extra, or the premium pack etc...

More details from the thread below.
