at least in their Kinto program customer was able to opt for engine power, steering assistance and powertrain balance. not sure though what options this include.
I don't think they are struggling to sell cars here, since the order books werde closed for over two years now. There are people still waiting for their car after more than 30 months. Also used GRY prizes are still not going down even when the hole used car market is deflating. My guess is those 300 cars are maybe canceled orders or some "dead stock" from other countries.I suspect they’ve been struggling to sell cars in Germany and have some dead Stocks that they’re trying to get rid of an easy way to do that is to offer a factory upgrade which is already offered in Japan.
That could also be possible, but the press information explicitly says all cars of the limited edition will be built in the first quarter of 2024. But wouldn't be the first time Toyota Deutschland is misinformed itselfTaking an Occam’s Razor approach to this information, maybe Toyota is simply planning to keep churning out the Yaris at the recent cadence for the foreseeable, and this is just the DE allocation for the coming 12-24 months?
If that were the case then it’s likely other interested markets *cough* the UK *cough* are going to be getting another allocation too…

I told the sales consultant of the potential new model, if it comes I'd like to switch my order over and that I was happy to wait for my original allocation. I believe the allocation that I was offered is a cancellation but he said we can still talk about it in January when it comes.Won't they want to know pretty soonish if you want the allocation, or will move it on?
I can't imagine you being upset with the Rallye.
Personally I wouldn't turn down one for a car that might just be rumour
Let’s see. I’m not dashing off to Ladbrokes, given all the previous rumours.GR Yaris evo 2, as far as I know, is confirmed, from very good sources.
In fact, it has been tested somewhere in Europe already. It is a 2024 model and allocations will be ‘tricky’ during that year:
-Improved engine. 280 ish hp in Europe. What’s in it? Not sure, my take is gr corolla adapted to meet EU emissions.
-Automatic gearbox as an option (maybe just in convenience packs?).
-Lower seats.
-Lower interior screen.
-Higher rearview mirror.
-Digital dashboard.
-Minor external changes.
-Possibly new rims.
-some GRMN parts available through dealers.
-More expensive than the actual one.
-New colour(s)?
If you have ordered a 2023 GR Yaris, I would cancel the order if I were you and try get the mk2. If you have one already, it’s man maths time, but in my opinion based on the things I shared, I’m not convinced the upgrade is worth it. But I’m sure Toyota keeps stuff for themselves until they unveil the vehicle.
Let’s call it mk2, to avoid any confusion.Let’s see. I’m not dashing off to Ladbrokes, given all the previous rumours.
Oh, and if they go for that nomenclature then this model would be an ‘Evo’, not an ‘Evo 2’![]()
