GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Sadly I can’t pretend to have Jedi level photoshopping skills. Much like those shit commemorative plates that could be found for sale in a 1980’s copy of the TV times they are real!

Totally bizarre.

For those frequent-in-everybody's-home occurrences when you are making a hot beverage and notice that a nearby 10mm nut needs tightening, or, perhaps, you are engaged in some DIY and are hungry and have a pot of yoghurt or a small trifle to hand but - darn it, you do not own any cutlery.

PS and have forty pounds (including postage) burning a hole in your pocket

With this set you can eat dinner too.

On a serious note: it’s a bit of an odd gift.

My car is now at the dealer. Just tried to set up the 3 day drive home insurance but turns out Toyota can't even provide a quote based on the data provided! Doesn't bode well for when I try to get quotes from other providers.

Thanks to this forum I just did that! My existing insurer LV who cover my T6 VW Kombi, max no claims, quoted an additional £1200 on top of the £515 I'm already paying them, needless to say I told them to do one!

Anyway, Howden, although not what I call cheap, came in at half that, can't use my no claims bonus as it's on the van so this is looking like the best I'm going to get.

Hi! Glad we could get something sorted for you, its good to hear! :)

So, finally the day has arrived, off to collect my GR at 11:00 this morning, really looking forward to it, although they have a fog warning in place so it may be an interesting drive home!

Looking on here I know some of you haven't had a brilliant experience with Toyota Customer Service and I know that people tend to only post bad stuff when it happens, so to add a bit of balance, my experience has been pretty good from the off. Danielle from the Toyota Online Team was really helpful yesterday evening and made sure that everything was in place for todays collection, even emailed me to let me know. In fact most of the people I dealt with have been pretty helpful.

I dealt with Danielle too and she was good... Never really contacted me but when I asked questions she was on the ball

Agreed! Danielle was good for me as well. She called me with updates, was able to take my calls and called me back if she wasn't available.

@Chris86 Good luck with the collection. Checking the time, it should be happening about now! I hope the fog clears and the sun comes out for you.

My car arrived at the dealer holding compound at western Toyota in Edinburgh on Wednesday. Still haven’t seen the car and they still haven’t collected it (despite the fact it’s right across the road). Feel like they’re messing me about now as the sales chap getting my car keeps having customer appointments and moving me out. Complained to Toyota Online. Was supposed to have seen it yesterday and then again today … but now told next week as he’s busy.

Got it! Great handover by Jamie at SLM Attleborough, took his time and never felt rushed. I spotted some minor scratches on the rear right quarter, they'll get sorted at the detailers, so no big deal as long as they are.

First time I've seen the blue in real life, really glad I went for it, looks so much better up close and personal!

Only driven it home so far, already loving it! As for some of the issues people have mentioned regarding sound system and cabin noise, not a problem for me at all, however I have been driving a T6 VW Kombi since 2016 so that's my only point of reference :ROFLMAO:

If you have asked, any employee should be able to take you around to view it. When I found out there was a grey one up at Halbeath, I went up and as my 'sales rep' was busy, one of the other young guys showed me around the car and we had a good chat. Never needed to bother the designated rep at all. Hopefully, your guy isn't trying to hide anything by stalling ... Turn up at their showroom and politely ask to be shown the car (by anyone) so that you can give it a look over because it's been so long in the waiting (or something like that), it's harder to turn a customer away when they are standing there in front of the reception desk...
