GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

haha nice work! What're the first things on your list? I'm thinking it'll need a back box at least.

Not intending to be critical, but the last thing I'd change would be the anti-roll bars. The GR86 will have good body control with a low centre of gravity. Putting on bigger ARB's will reduce traction as you are increasing lateral spring rate.

Had a GT86 for 8 years. Put on coilovers and all that. Never had a need to change the ARB's. Tried a few cars that had it and it ruined it IMO.

Since my first GT86 I have put ARBs on my cars, sometimes with lowering springs sometimes not, I don't track my cars

I still vividly remember driving my GRY for the first time on a local twisty sealed hill & thinking how terrible the body roll was

I just don't like that feeling, the bars are cheap & easy to install, esp compared to the rear one in a Supra or front one in a GRY

Thats cool. I do a lot of track work and competition and did a load of it in my old GT86. A little roll, actually helps you move the weight around, so is absolutely key in manipulating the chassis under trail braking or in high speed corners. The reality of bigger ARB's is that they can tend to reduce traction by increasing lateral spring rates, which doesn't improve the handling. Don't get me wrong, it can do if done right, but I've not felt the need to change an ARB. I ran a bespoke coilover setup on my old GT86, which worked very well with stock ARB's.

I think many like you either don't like body roll or see it as a bad thing. The reality is that changing ARBs in terms of handling should really be a last resort. Obviously your car, so your preference. (y)

Yep everyone likes different things for sure

Interestingly the front ARB is thicker on the Circuit pack compared to the Convenience , IIRC the spring rate is a little different as well ?

When you went to coil overs did you increase/decrease the spring rate ?

On my GT86 I increased the spring rate to 5kg front 6kg rear. Yes on the GRY the spring rate is higher on the front for circuit packs. ARB differs too and damper bump and rebound is different on circuit packs.

Ordered my first 'mod'... For the garage wall!

😁
