GR86 GR86 - What wheels and tyres are you thinking about?

I am interested in changing my wheels car is red to dark bronze. Like the above wheels is it not best to just have them refinished so the correct widths are retained. What you guys thinking on going for a different wheel. I am guessing refinish would be around £300. I guess you could get winter tyres on the old rims
 
Will I need spacers with a 17x7.5 +50 offset wheel? . Oem wheel spec is similar bar the offset at +48

The brakes are tiny, I imagine it would be absolutely fine, you might want to space them for aesthetics though.
 
Does anyone know if the 16in wheels from the GT86 Primo edition will fit on the GR car? I think they should, although the brakes on the Primo were slightly smaller. Seems like an easy way to get wheels with the right offset and bore and that will take the stock flat nuts with washers.

Hello Zoo members, I'm sure like many others here, whilst passing the time waiting to get my paws on the GR I've been flip flopping between 'just enjoying the stock experience' first and filling the spare room up with parts for a car I don't own yet!

Anyway, after having read many helpful points on this thread, including a great GT86 summary from @Will300 I'm fully down the rabbit hole.

I love the idea of some lightweight 18's which retain the playful character of the car but I'd also like them to be concave / have a decent lip.

Any recommendations? I'm considering the Enkei RFP1 but I believe in order to get the concave spokes you need a 9" width which I believe will likely remove some that playfulness - Or is that not the case if I retain the stock tyres?

For RPF1s you only get the flat spokes and lip on the 9" rim in 17's and 9.5" in 18's. Unfortunately you can't have your cake and eat it, nothing really comes with much in the way of a lip or concaved face below 9". Offsets will tend to be aggressive which pushes the wheels out, this gives a monster truck look at the standard ride height, so you will end up lowering it. You can stretch narrower tyres over wide wheels but the look is questionable and it can cause the handling to become a bit snappy. It's a slippery slope.
 
36.7mm to be precise.

This car has optional TRD Brembo calipers.

It's difficult to find a good angle that shows it, one of the 17" wheels that I have in stock has almost the same lip size, so I can take some very angled pictures of that to get an idea.
