GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

That “safety check” is the biggest scam. Toyota UK shouldn’t be allowed to conjure up shit like that.

Its first (intermediate or ‘A’) service was done a year ago, and every other service is a full or ‘B’ service, so it was £450 this time. As far as I can tell there’s no extra fluid changes like the gearbox or diff oil, just more checks are done.

Having the intermediate done first, and then it having to go back in for the extra work for the full, has shown that an extra £150 for 20-30 minutes labour is a bit of a rip-off.

When you factor in the 6 month safety checks (now £75), you realise that’s it’s now quite an expensive car to maintain. Even if you do zero miles you’re looking at £450 per year average for servicing.

I also got quoted for a service plan, Toyota fixed price of course, £1,275 for ‘6’ services. This is actually only 3 services, 2 intermediate and 1 full, and 3 safety checks. So the service plan saves you a grand total of…that’s right, f**k all! It’s essentially just a pay monthly option, but one that ties you in to a service plan at one garage. So no thanks.

What a scam this 10 year warranty is. It’s actually just an extended warranty insurance policy, with a £4,500 premium. 😂

Luckily, they made the car good fun to drive. And it still costs significantly less to run than all kinds of sports cars, with slower real world pace!
Twice as frequent servicing as a 911 GT3!

I took my service plan out in July to avoid the price rise for servicing, three full, two intermediate for £1505
That’s £375 and £190 for services

Yes, silly. But then you could argue the 1.6 litres and 3 cylinders of the G16E-GTS are more highly stressed than the 3.6-4.0 litres and 6 of the GT3 unit? And with other complicated oily bits that need looking after too.

I imagine Porsche asks for a bit more than £450 for a full service on the GT3 though…

12k Mile Service this morning. Just what the doctor ordered with Christmas around the corner! Not far off of 2 years old (the car) so looking forward to being collared at the dealership to 'trade up' (to what, is anyone's guess).

Main check in safety check are the brakes since there is no wear sensor.... Only 2 year warranty here (another kind of rip-off) so I'll check myself thanks.

Took it to RRG Macclesfield for a new exhaust :)
Just having it fitted as I type

Where did you find that? Also what's the English name of that? Looks.... Polish?
Hah it's definitely Polish edition.
I can recommend Shiny Garage Seal Separator (if you can find it where you live) - it's a product designed for seal care and keeping seals from sticking to windows. Works great and it's quite cheap.
Sonax version should be this in English
