GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Tastes are so different which is of course a wonderful thing!
Personally I've test driven GRY twice back in Dec 2020 and absolutely disliked that car - wouldn't even buy it at a 50% discount.
GT86 on the contrary was a love at first sight type of a situation.
If only they could put a sunroof on my new upcoming GR86....

Same here. The GRY is fun. To a point. But it wasn't really for me and doing a track day completely ruined my view of the car. I had a drive in my friend's GT86 at the same session and I much preferred it to the Yaris.

This guy wrote to Evo and summed it up nicely. The thing about the GRY though is because of it's history, there is much more to talk about than other cars and I guess that was part of its allure.

It is a tough one but you buy cars for yourself and no one else. Everyone's feel is different. I drove a Yaris for an hour unaccompanied when lockdown first lifted and while it was fun it felt like a ten tenths car. What I mean by that is how it feels until you get to the limit. Up to that point it feels like a normal Yaris. But to get it to dance and feel fun, you have to be at ten tenths which was a concern. I'd have to be flat out all the time to enjoy it and these days you definitely can't do that regularly.

Other cars I drove at the time were the i30N and the FK8 Type-R. The i30N was boring to 4 tenths, which is ideal for a daily but felt great after that all the way to the limit. The Type-R felt special everywhere, even driving to the shops. That's the same feeling I get when riding my bike or in my brothers 86. And when they get to the limit, there's still scope to adjust and play with it which is why I'm so excited to get the GR86. When you do push it and have a good blast on a good road, it's all you doing the work and it feels more special.

Without any prompting my Dealer has just sent me a mail saying my ETA on their system for my car is 19/09/22.
According the the APP it hasn't got past Processing Order!!!
Unfortunately, a few of us have had similar messages from the dealers. Toyota UK (or Buy Online, whatever they want to cal themselves) haven't informed the dealer network that these are just placemarkers to get them on the system. Don't get your hopes up, especially if your car isn't even built yet as TUK have stated it's at least 3 months after the car goes in to build that you'll see it.

As a new member... just saying hi to all and another member eagerly awating news on my pre-ordered Electric Blue in 6MT!

Welcome and congratulations @reid291 , I’ve added you to “The List” in post #1 , you are at #197 ✅👍😎 Who will be our at #200 on the list 🤔😊

PS I worked in Wolverhampton for 12 years 👍

Wow, plenty of new members! I wonder if people have dropped off the list as theyve cancelled their orders (and not informed the forum). Could have some people on the list getting the same car!

10:41 order (orca 0132206) not heard anything much.

Have sent a couple of nudge mails, one suggested Sept, the next one Nov.

Personally think it will be 2023 Easter time.

I keep thinking manual M2 solar orange, but if I lose my patience and buy it then the GR86 will be less than thrilling.
