GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Wished my car a happy third birthday. Gone quick these last three years, and has been a mostly positive ownership experience (apart from the recent servicing/MOT FUBAR).

Long term readers will remember it is my birthday too, so I will gratefully receive your generous birthday wishes 🙂

Right then, serious question.

Here is my car MOT history information, as it stands:

Can anyone with knowledge of such matters advise - should my car really be showing a 'failed' MOT when the test was incomplete/void? Surely an aborted test should mean no MOT failure should have been recorded?

In any case, I'm probably the first/only GR86 owner on the forum to have the ignominy of an MOT fail.

My searches all seem to indicate that the 'testing Station Failure' should not be recorded against your vehicle. The test should have been aborted. Only the DVSA can ammend the car's record.

From Google AI:
  • Explain that the failure reason you received was due to a station equipment fault, not a vehicle defect, and ask them to contact the DVSA to have the record corrected.
  • If the station is unhelpful or refuses to rectify the situation, you can complain to the DVSA about the test result. You will need to fill in a complaint form and send it to the DVSA within 14 days of the failed test.

Even in this fine season of good will, that failure of their incompetence will piss me right off.
Merry Christmas to all.

Appreciate that @Sonic , thanks for researching. Makes perfect sense that - why penalise a car for testing station equipment failure?

So, I'm going to have to swap my winter wheels over before my first test in February then (unless I put them in the back of the car for the test )
Did wonder if i would have got away with sticking the originals in the boot, they were a bit bald though

600+ miles of Christmas duties complete!

A neighbour of my sister was checking out my car while it was parked in Fife, perhaps they were worried Sonic had moved into the neighbourhood :p
