I found out the traction control/ESC doesn't bother intervening if you're vaguely straight at 40mph, even in normal mode. Air temp was 5C but tyres more than up to temperature after driving for a while already.. yet while accelerating (relatively carefully) onto a dual carriageway at roughly mid-range in 2nd gear the rear got a wag on for a few moments. I was expecting the TC light to flicker and power to cut.. but nothing. It was just like 'yeah, you're still going forwards, you're not foot to the floor, I'll stay out of this'.

What conditions were you in to get a wag at 40MPH under partial throttle in a straight line?
I wish I knew (so I could avoid them in the future). Possibilities include that there was a very gentle curve (only a few degrees), that partial throttle was still a good % of full due to the sensitive default mapping, that a white line or something was greasy and instigated torque transfer across the diff which then caused opposite wheel to break traction and thereafter the two rears took it in turn to break traction for a little bit.
The car has been checked and everything is ok! The service didn’t find any damage, but they balanced the wheels as there were some vibrations after last visit to dealer a week before the “oops” moment and test drove the car afterwards. I wanted to do the alignment just in case, but they said that after the test drive it’s really not necessary and I should do it in two months when changing to summer tiresYeah, it looks ok! Not technically 'my' GR86, but the multiplayer challenge (trial) on Forza Horizon 5 this week is 86 vs BRZ so I've been thrashing everyone who is suddenly forced into driving a fairly normal car that they haven't upgraded to the gills and consequently, can't drive 
Spotted a small ding on my passenger door today. It's so small that weirdly, I cant really see it up close and there's no paint damage. But when I was stood in the kitchen looking out I just caught it in the light. And now I keep homing in to it 
Not sure when it happened, as I'm dead careful about where I park...I did have to park in an airport long-stay last week, so I was completely paranoid while on my trip but I managed to park in an end spot with the passenger door facing the pedestrian throughway bit, so doubt it happened there. The drivers door was fine.
Oh well. Wish I was more sanguine about stuff like this, but it will of course ruin my week.

Yeah I probably will eventually. But it's so small, that I figure maybe it's worth waiting a while until I've accumulated some more to make it worthwhile someone coming out. Knowing my luck I'll get another one ten minutes after the first is sorted.
Finally took mine out and tested changes I did in December. My memory is shit but I think I did: Cusco steering brace, longer STI steering bolts, the Whiteline kdt925 diff bushing mod but not the top diff bushing
Car felt great, a tiny bit more diff whine at certain rpms seems to be the only downside

Must admit, didn't know that. Had a few small dents in my GT but never got around to getting someone out.

@Conscript So I don't have to take my leather key fob cover off, can you remember what battery is required and I'll get a couple in stock . . .
I haven't actually been into the car since I posted that, so I haven't changed it yet

I was fitting a seat cover on to the back seats earlier, and as I pulled the driver seat forward for access, something caught my eye lying on the floor...
It's a CR2032 battery, presumably for the keyfob, but supplied in genuine Toyota packaging. I have no idea where it came from. Both my keys already have a battery in them. Anyone else been given a bonus battery?
