GR Yaris (Gen 2) Armijs GR YARIS MK2

okay, but in the spare parts, you don't see what kind of flywheel it is for the model with automatic transmission? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a single mass flywheel!
Nope

Actually did a mistake, posted this originally in the wrong thread, was meant to go here in my car thread instead.

Well, the Braid Fullrace A J7x17 ET35 have been ordered, together with shipping from Spain to Latvia and without VAT we had to pay 750 eur :D A good deal IMO if i have ever seen one. At the end of next week they will probably be shipped. Gonna get Michelin X-Ice North 4 in 205/50/17 , these will be my first studded tyres, on a van or other cars i have had over the years i have always driven without studs and have been fine, but we will see, if ill have a drive outside Latvia towards countries to the south will just buy cheap winter tyres without studs in that size.

Can I ask you if you car has the "fake sound" that Gen1 had?
I've heard something that AT doesn't have the fake sound, while manual still has it.

I'm quite sure they all have the same, as having driven both and they sounded the same inside.
sound can be adjusted from the multimedia, how - don't ask as dont' know the car in detail as don't own one.

I'm just asking because I saw in the facebook group somebody is asking why he doesn't have any sound inside on AT. Other user confirmed that he also doesn't have it.

There were talks about this before in other threads, as far as i know, none of the cars be it Auto or manual have the sound dampening coming from the speakers anymore, and the artificial sound coming in the cabin is only present on the manual of MK2, and you can even adjust the volume of it from the dash as far as i know.

Only things i hear is induction noise on accelerator release, engine growl, music and the loud ass tarmac sounds.

At least Finnish AT had same soundtrack as manual

Well, cant say much more about this, when poking around GTS + though, it showed up both ESE and ANC, and it showed them both as ON, i did not try to turn them off, AFAIK they should not be on the car at all though.

In other news, Wheels should arrive on wednesday, tyres should arive on 16.10, but i got a problem, on 21st i gotta drive to the very very south of Poland, which means i will either have to borrow somehwere or buy some cheapo winter tires without studs that i will have to sell afterwards. Stupid situation but it is what it is. As the temperatures show quite low at that time in Poland, and it being the mountains, dont want to risk still going with summer tyres. This morning already it was 0 here, and iced up windshields on all the cars, but the next two weeks show to be warmer.

And also i got a message back from MFF, they should be sending me a quote for Kaylan mudflaps in the next few days as they have finished the design and will start shipping orders overseas at the end of October, just in time for winter.

@Armijs another question, sorry to bother you so much. I'm getting my GRY soon and I want to decide on this.

Are you able to do a month-in review of the Primeeva mats? Have you cleaned them already? Can we get a photo of whole interior from a distance to asses how red stitching fits the black-red interior? Thanks.

They are fine, small sand and rocks you can just take them out and flip it over, the cells really nicely contain all the small debree, for something like mud just use a pressure washer and they are clean. For the price they are just fine really, atleast fit the cars color scheme. I can make new pics later, have Toyota training all day today.

So i tried on whatever was lying around, i can say that 215/55/17 fits as well on MK2, maybe not for hard potholes, but did not test.

Is the 55 a typo ? Iโ€˜ve also a wheelset in your size and think I may try tyres in 215/45/17 once the 205/50 are worn.

No, no typo, mounted a single tyre from a Yaris cross, turned the wheel all the way both sides, while slowly going back and forth, did not feel any issues

Shout out to @tonic , after his advice, wheels will get powder lacquered, so they dont look like this after a single winter, namely the oxidixed naked aluminium. Yikes !

Hello from a fellow Latvian, owner of a Gen2, Manual, Grey, Premium trim! ๐Ÿ‘‹

First of all, I enjoy following your work on the car, and it inspires me to work on my car as well, so please keep the updates coming.

I love those new rims, but how the hell will those 17-inch wheels fit on those enormous front brake discs? ๐Ÿ˜…
And where did you buy those aftermarket TPMS sensors? Is there anything specific I need to look for when buying them?

Hello, congrats ! Thank you for the kind words, just a few things left so i am happy with the car, mudflaps and exhaust.

Aftermarket sensors it all really depends on what you have the ability or your garage to reprogram, for example a set of original TPMS sensors that you can do at the dealer is about 250 EUR, i can buy cheaper ones for myself, and a set will cost 88 eur, but we do have a TPMS tool to reprogram them with, so you really have to decide what you have the ability to do yourself. OEM code for our TPMS is 42607-02070, you can get analogs for example from Intercars. I will be buying Schrader ones as our ATEQ TPMS tool can reprogram those, simple if you know how, but i do have a car workshop of my own.

The rims were already tested on the MK1, and are one of the few 17 inch rims that fit without changing the brake system. I already tried one on, it looked great and fit well with room to spare.

Would you know the Schrader part number as well as I can't find the GR Yaris on the Schrader website.
