GR Yaris The EcuTek thread

No issues here. Just a base map then datalogs and tweaks for my stg2 mods to refne things. 5 revisions so far.

It's running very well. Feels amazingly drivable, great on part throttle which I missed before but not massively quicker than previous map when flat out.

Crikey I only got one revision. I also noticed recently I had to log into the app, presume it had updated. When I managed to login all my data had been removed, it downloaded the maps again, but my logs and dashboards had vanished.

Hi All , I'm in the same boat at the moment, revision 5/6 at the moment over a few months. If I knew this was the process I'd have waited until there was a definite map . I appreciate there are lots of different mods on various cars . Anyone else feeling the same?

2nd revision including the initial base map (HKS Legamax and Eventuri) and no issues here on my MY2021 car. Is something really not happy on yours? Would you mind sharing your mods here? I just don’t understand why you need 6 revisions of a map. Surely they’d look at the logs and just correct whatever values / tables need tweaking and job done.

Hi , standard air box with itg filter , forge inlet & turbo outlet , kelford springs , Wagner intercooler.

Hmm sounds like simple stage 1+ mods so should be easy to map. I wonder why it’s taking so long to revise. Has your car been doing something weird with the power delivery? The Wagner has been known to be quite laggy compared to others due to the size of it?

Power delivery has varied, had a final map installed in the last few days and all seems good. The Wagner intercooler works well , standard pipes on, not the larger ones you can use from Wagner. I just need to get time to drive it 🤣

What sensor do we use for boost reading and can it be changed to bar or psi

Yes, no matter what I choose in app settings all pressure reading seem to be in kpa! But there are dashboards in this thread that show readings in bar 🤔

I'm not very impressed with this app if I'm honest. Wish I could get the data in Torque Pro.

Yeah me too, but Torque can't get all the extra data Racerom provides so would like to get the Ecutek app working properly. But it seems a crap app unless I'm doing something wrong
Spoke to ecutek, its been loged to look at for next update, if its a simple fix mite get done sooner rather than later

Hi everyone,

I’ve been exploring remote tuning options for my GR Yaris, and I’ve come across a few different tuners. For example, Whifbitz requires the Ecutek programming kit and dongle for their remote tunes. In the USA, Limitplus1, which has experience with GR Corollas and some GR Yaris, offers remote tunes with the Phoneflash, similar to Litchfield in the UK. Limitplus1 is also a Master Tuner and offers E50 tunes, which is a great option for those looking for more power and flexibility.

My question is specifically about tuners like Whifbitz that use the programming kit. Aside from purchasing the kit and their ECU tune, do I also need to buy "flash points" or licenses? I’ve noticed that some UK tuners, who aren't Master Tuners, offer cheaper tunes but require flash points. For example, Tuning Developments, which isn’t a Master Tuner, has a lower tune cost compared to Master Tuners, but they do specify the need to purchase flash points. When I asked Whifbitz, they didn’t mention anything about flash points.

On the other hand, ACME, whose tune cost is very similar to Whifbitz, also adds the cost of flash points on top of the tune price. Whifbitz, however, didn’t mention this.

Does anyone here have experience with Whifbitz and can confirm if flash points are needed when purchasing the programming kit for a remote tune?

Thank you in advance for any help, I really appreciate it!

I used Litchfield. Ecutek Master Tuner, everything done online or over the phone, super efficient service, can has run like a dream since the flash.

Really can’t fault them.

With Whifbitz it’s been the Programming kit (usb stick and OBD dongle) and regular maps sent through to try out, log and send back. I think I’m on the 10th revision now. Nothing extra to pay for.
