Godspeed are offering 5% off but only on the kit that uses the Megane 2 caliper (smaller) and not on the Megane 3 kit that was earlier linked. The reason being that the former is in-stock (50 units) and the latter is limited stock (10units) then back order.

I am now unsure what to do but here is the link that automatically applies the discount at checkout should anyone wish to use it.

Hmm, that's disappointing. Would have thought he'd have been quite aware of the interest in the Megane kit.

Doesn't change my decision, was only a £60 saving anyway, so I'll still be ordering. Just a shame.

Thanks for chasing up either way.

I have sent an email to DBA direct to see if they would look into supplying the 40mm versions of the Brembo calipers. They obviously have someone who is making the WRX STi versions so how much harder would it be to make 40mm versions? Also surely the GT86 market would be greater than that of WRX Sti calipers?

I guess if you never ask you don't get.

One good alternative is to use hp performances (k-systems) conversion 294x30 kit. They specialize in Hondas, but also have for the BRZ. The bias moves a little bit backwards, which should be taken in consideration for pad selection (to me is good, as I like rear pads with good modulation charcteristics)
Issue being a Clio caliper, which I will review as the pad seems to be different.

Some bias calculation (geometric). Original brakes are GG on front (about 0.45) and FF on rears (about 0.40), which increases front bias in 10% when compared to geometric calculations.

Other note, does anyone have a good contact at Reyland, I sent emails to him if they would be willing to develop a 304x28 version, so I could keep the rear OEM and avoid the weight increase on rears and save a little bit on front.

I have the same problem, I wrote a bunch of emails and even called them but each time I ended up discussing with Jenny. Unfortunately she's not very knowledgeable/helpful.

Just to update this, Ian has further increased discount for this kit, as he's found they actually have more like 55-60 sets of the calipers in stock.

This previous generation kit is now available at just £999, no discount code required.

A solid choice for those after a big brake kit, but not too bothered about getting the Megane 3 kit I and others have ordered.

Another brief, but interesting update.

Have been speaking with Ian at Godspeed throughout the day, and asked about some options for the rear brakes on the 86 platform.

He's supplied a few rear kits for BRZs and WRX STIs, which are similar (just a different PCD). He's willing to offer a kit on his site, inclusive of:
  • WRX calipers
  • Grooved 316mm discs redrilled for 5x100 PCD
  • Kevlar pads
  • All necessary bolts and fitting equipment
No absolute guarantee on pricing, but he's ballparked it around £650-700 as a ready to fit kit.

Looking at the parts for doing this yourself, you wouldn't save a huge amount off that bill buying parts separately.

Potentially a great solution for the rear, for those interested.

I've asked him to make some enquiries and keep me up to date. As soon as I know more (and hopefully, that will be in the form of a kit being listed on his website), I will of course share with you guys.

£650-700 is a very good price, if they can do it for that you will struggle to beat it if you DIY it. They will need to supply new brake hoses though.

I'm guessing they will use the diamond style 2 piston brembos as fitted on the GT86 PP and US GR86s and Impreza WRX. They are direct bolt on, only the dust shield needs trimming for the larger caliper. No need to have redrilled discs mind you, you can buy off the shelf 316mm discs in 5x100.

Here are some options I found, you need to be careful as there are 2 different discs heights sold. 68mm and 63mm, the 68 won't work.

APEC DSK3778

Ah well, in that case ignore my message lol. I don't know Subarus.

It is the diamond shaped calipers he's looking at.

As for discs, they would be looking (I would imagine) to offer their own 316mm discs, which they already stock for the Subaru. All they need to do it drill them to 5x100 and you get Godspeed discs, rather than MTEC or somewhere else. Godspeed discs look to be of great quality.

Of course, if you want to go elsewhere for discs, I'm sure there wouldn't be an issue.

Do you know if the rears will be two piece discs?
