GR86 Some pics of my work in progress.

Thanks for feedback on Greddy cooler.

You went with road MP4 tyres due to potential rain? Do you have slicks/semi-slicks for dry conditions?
.... the pics of are Bridgstone Potenza Race tyres, which I swap at track. I don't use these tyres for road and get to and from trackdays on the factory wheels, currently on Pilot Sport 4.

Any official word on what happens to the powertrain warranty if you fit an aftermarket oil cooler? I'm fine with basic bolt ons but I'm nervous about touching engine stuff given the risk of failure we all know about.

Never been to a track day myself, is it secure to leave your road tires and tools while you are out doing laps?
We always book a garage. But anyone can take anything if they wanted. Touch wood, nothing has gone missing over the years. The crowd at these events tend to be all enthusiasts. Also, to get into the event, you got to be a participant or guest. You can't just walk up and start to watch.

I think with the mods on my car, if any issues were to arise, I'm on my own!

I don't think the wear is bad at all on the Potenza Race. I know my driving style (or lack of) is hard on the the tyres. The pics tell more of how hard they have been working (getting hot) and picking up all the marbles on the track.

Out of interest what damper settings were you running? Full hard?
Yup, maxed out and still way too much movement. Hopefully the ARB kit will help out. If not, then its time to bite the bullet and get some track focused suspension.

Sorry, tyre pattern got me confused.

Interested in how you get on. What suspension do you think you'd go for?
Lots of options out there... Bottom line is the budget. Also there is the trade off, something that handles perfect on track is going to be like a pain to drive on the road. Fingers crossed the ARB's will give me the roll control I feel lacking.

Of course I can start adjusting the coilovers, maybe drop it another 10mm and put on more pre-load....

Annoyed these weren't available when I bought the 18" AME wheels or I would have snapped these up.

Enkei GTC02 17x9 ET43 (same style as Japan GR86 Cup cars but different size). Will run 245/40 17, most probably Nankang AR1.

Got my mate in Japan to buy me a set and send them snail mail like before. I don't think I'll see them in time for this 2024 trackday season....

Rewinding to the very beginning of this thread... which front splitter do you have please? Any problems with speed bumps etc?

Its the HT Autos front lip. Good value and fits perfect. Speed bumps are not a problem but approach angles into drives etc have to be careful.
