GR Yaris YARIS GR CONFIGURATOR NO LONGER AVAILABLE

I have had my name on the waiting list for a looong time now.. In this time I bought a used Gr Yaris at above retail price but ended up selling back in the summer when I secured a GR86.
I have just been offered a potential cancelled order for a pearl white circuit pack but is it worth taking or are used values now below retail price? I don't want to lose out on a big wedge when it comes to selling again next year..

Be interesting to see what happens with prices.

CTR and GRY prices were basically a kick in the arse off each other in 2020. The new CTR has just launched with a 35% hike in its price, despite ostensibly being just a mild update. You basically can’t buy a new GRY now.

Secondhand prices for Type Rs will inevitably inflate to fill the gap, but it’s be interesting to see if that kind of market pressure will swell the prices of what is a very close match in terms of market segment, target audience, and desirability.

Such a tough shout. I would love a new Yaris but having lost some money on the first one I don't think I could handle losing another load in 6 months time.

It seems to me some people have lots of money and want to make more. My personal opinion is the GRY is to be driven, enjoyed and loved. Not something you just own and sits in a garage waiting years for when they are rare and making money.

I feel lucky to own one and use it daily. It makes me smile every day.

Friend of mine has a type r and he's looking at the new one. He seems to think the FL5 will only have limited numbers in the UK. Dealer reckoned of 20 pre orders they have they might only get 2 cars. Apparently something to do with emissions regulations, amount of higher emissions cars has to be offset by erm... boxes.

He actually got a pretty decent valuation for his FK8 but 40k+ doesn't have him super happy either.

Have a look in the marketplace on the forum at the sold ones for an indication of what they are actually selling for.
Imo if you use it you will probably loose money. Even if you flip it with delivery miles from recent sold ones you may make a grand as you more than likely will be paying the 36530 for the pearl cancelled order.

Perhaps interesting to note that the number of cars offered for sale on Autotrader seems to me to be steadily falling. Down now to about 135 cars from more that 160 at the end of 2022. Might possibly increase if cars are returned at 2 years old, but are many folk actually contemplating doing that?

After 3.5 year PCP the guaranteed future value is around 15k so nobody is returning their car; even if I sold mine at (a very cheap) 25k I'd still get back way more than the deposit I put in.
